Luther eventually thought the Anabaptists were too radical and needed to be stopped by any means, even by force or burning at the stake if necessary. Ironic in light of how Luther viewed Jan Hus, though the Anabaptists certainly didn't have clean hands either (they weren't all peaceniks like the Mennonites, some of them were quite violent at first).
