Great rewrite. And I voted for Joe Biden by absentee ballot just yesterday. Even though I sadly never got to see Tom Petty live, last year I saw the cowriter/co-producer of this song and the 'Full Moon Fever' album, Jeff Lynne. That's right, I saw Electric Light Orchestra (now it's 'Jeff Lynne's ELO') and before the show the PA was playing songs from the various and diverse artists that Jeff worked with in his long career. 'Cheer Down', 'You Got It', 'Free As a Bird', etc. and this OG got the crowd singing. We were stoked and the evening was excellent like this parody. As a bonus, our opening act was Dhani Harrison - son of George of the Beatles. Ever heard of them?
