The Lyrics

Well, here goes everything! :-( I really worked HARD revising this, trying to rematch the pacing and the lyrics! I sure hope it all was worth it! :-(
As they dust the dirt off their bones
They end up in a museum don’t you know
If they lose one bone (no-way-no!)
They’re yelling down look out below

All the bizarre cavemen in a wrath
Painting signs on the wall of the rock
Real Saber skins (ugh-a-ugh!)
The poor Sabertooths will freeze to death

Tyrannosauruses are coming my way
Boom-a-bam-a-bam-boom-a-bam-boom
Walk like a dinosaur

The herbivores eat the plants
As they move slowly across the ground
They move so slow (boom-bam-boom!)
You hear them coming just from the sound

All the carnivores are not herbivores
They like the flash and blood of Homo sapiens
They let out a roar (roar-a-roar!)
They’re walking like a dinosaur

The Brachiosaurus are coming this way
Boom-a-bam-a-bam-boom-a-bam-boom
Walk like a dinosaur

(Instrumental Break)

(Childish Tarzan Jungle Call x2)

Tranno, Stego, Hardro, Megalo
Edmonto, pterodac, Bronto and Brach
Who is not to say (day-by-day!)
In sixty five million years they’ll be back?

If you want to find the Triceratops
They’re hanging out at a nearby swamp
They growl and roar (growl-n-roar!)
They all romp as they tromp and stomp

All the velociraptors by the score
They’re pack hunting with all their kin
The Eoraptors know (bam-a-boom)
They’re all walking like a dinosaur

The stegosaurs are going my way
Boom-a-bam-a-bam-boom-a-bam-boom
Walk like a dinosaur
Walk like a dinosaur
I am afraid to ask but still, let me know how I did this time.

Nice topic and funny enough execution, but the pacing somewhat limped. The rule of thumb is: one syllable - one beat. All.-the-old-writ-ings-on-the-tombs (seven syllables) they-do-the-same-thing-don't-you-know (seven syllables). You had "they-end-up-in-a-mus-ee-um-don't-you-know" (eleven syllables, which is four too much), and it somewhat limped. That's why I gave you only three on the pacing. It is a good idea to dig the original song at YouTube and attempt to sing or hum along.

Thanks for the advice SV! I will employ next time I write another parody, and for all future parodies as well... ;-) It was nice of you to let me know what I did wrong so I wouldn't have to guess and possibly keep making the same mistakes over and over. I guess I got a little carried away on these last few parodies.

SV-Oh, and thanks for the V and C too! :-)

I liked this one a lot, but echo some of the pacing issues. Personally, I like fairly descriptive parodies, and this one worked for me nicely!

Thanks for the V and C WB! I am glad that you like descriptive parodies, I guess that is something I found that we both have in common... :-)
