The Lyrics

Polo looks so bad on me
My stock went down way too fast
I'm drivin' my Porsche real slowly
Just to make the mileage last
'Coz when you're born rich, you're sensitive
It's so hard when ya get shot down
Don't be surprised if you see me slumming
With the upper middle class of town

Soon I'll be grabbin' the wild life, amen
My stock that shrunk will shoot right up again
I'll be sitting in first class again
The golfing club that snubbed me once will smile and let me in
And I'll sip martinis free
'Coz I'll buy the yacht and make the barkeeps leave
I'll snag a sunny house on Venice Beach
And have my cooks prepare a Thai'd shrimp feast

Once I used to be the best
Now I'm no longer in Forbe's top ten
Lost property here, a merger there
I want to know - are we still friends?
Sometimes I take the F Street line
No longer driven by my good man Heinz
You'll see me eat at Burger King
Reading Wall Street, snatching diners' fries

Soon I'll be grabbin' the spry life, my friend
The bust of E.F. Hutton will wink at me again
I'll be inviting some ex-girlfriends
Only to throw 'em out, and warn 'em never to come back in
And I'll balance cocktails on my knees
While trading stocks and bonds on blackberries
Monopolizing easily
Grabbin' the soft life again

I'll be jackin' the highways again
They'll have to pry my Lexus keys
From my cold, dead hands
I'll be grabbin' the high life with Sven
This corporate jet's reserved for us
And several boys aged ten

A don't know what you've got till it's gone parody. Fantastic Yoidy. . .Even coming from a middle class family, I can relate, moving out on my own being used to a Bronze Platter (You know Silver and Gold are for the richer classes). . .I crashed hard and made many mistakes, oh and it hurts going from upper-middle class to upper-poverty, good parody. . .returning the favor you did by reading my parody yesterday and leaving feedback, yesterday I didn't get a chance to read other people's work.

Saw the title and thought it was going to be about really bad beer. Topical tune in light of what happened yesterday.

You don't need to be rich to live on Venice Beach - you can be homeless and live there... ;-)

Thanks Meriadoc, Rick C. As they say, you don't need to be rich - but it helps!
