It's getting to be another election season...time for me to start writing parodies of third-party presidential candidates again! This is the first one in my series for 2012. Fringe presidential candidate Merlin Miller (of the white-nationalist American Third Position Party) sat down for a nearly 20-minute-long meeting with Mahmoud Ahmedinejad last week. Afterwards, when interviewed about it he insisted that Ahmedinejad was really a nice guy and that the "Zionists" who control both major parties and the media in the US were unfairly slandering him. Read about it here I was surprised a presidential candidate of all people would be able to get away with pulling a stunt like this. The article says the two exchanged gifts; isn't that against the law considering we have sanctions against Iran and all?

* Merlin Miller is obsessed with the USS Liberty incident in 1967, which he contends was a deliberate Israeli attack agains the US. He's even made a film about it, which is why he was in Iran (he was trying to get funding for the film)
