Endeavour flew her maiden voyage
In May of the year "Ninety-two"
This shuttle for space..Challenger, did replace,
When that ship exploded and lost all it's crew
Key parts from Discovery, Atlantis,
Were used to assemble this bird
Eighteen years it would live, great service to give
But there now comes a time when farewell is the word..

And so the fat lady sings for Endeavour,
Endeavour's endeavor was then
Now astronaut men..won't hang from it on a tether
Nor astronaut women..take space journeys with the men
Here's to it's long life, so faithful
No more sightings reflective at dawn
Flown piggy back to a Cal. science center,
Forever Endeavour is gone

The last pilot, Commander Mark Kelly
Gabby Gifford's husband, well known
Cargo'd in the bay..a high detect cosmic ray
On a sixteen day journey, to the space station flown
Everything on it's last flight went flawless
In history, it now, earns a place
Val'dictory address..legacy to impress
For logging one-twenty-five million miles out in space

And so the fat lady sings for Endeavour

It has finished it's duty on high
And shall remain in a Cal. science center,
