“Every Show’s a Re-run”

I turned on my telly-set
To watch primetime TV.
I saw the same atrocious singer
On the idol show last week.

Was it flashbacks I saw, perhaps déjà vu?
Was it TiVo’d by mistake?
So I surfed through the channels,
And I surfed,
But I’ve seen it all before.


Every show’s a re-run.
It’s like, every skit has been done.
It’s like, every sitcom is no longer fun.
Every show’s a re-run.

Yeah, they are.


I witness the whole cast of LOST
Crashing in their plane again.
Then MTV had The Beatles’ latest hit
in the new top ten.

And I question Donald Trump.
Could he fire someone twice?
And I don’t think I can trust the news
When they show OJ go for a cruise.
I guess

Through a hundred channels,
There is nothing new to see.
Even all of the good commercials,
Are the same; the same to me.


The guy on Wheel of Fortune could have won
if he’d gone with the ‘U’.
I saw this one last night;
As well as Jeopardy, too.

But when I was about to drop my heart,
I saw The Simpson show about to start.
It may have aired in ’94,
But it sure beats shows like Jersey Shore.
I guess...
