The Lyrics

I can see Phil Collins’ thinning hair tonight, oh Lord
His bald pate gleaming in the glow of - a sole spot light, oh Lord
Can you see it combing over to the right, oh Lord,
Oh Lord

Well, when you told me you were going
To see that old man’s band
I’ve seen Genesis before, my friend
But now they’ve gone so mainstream and bland
Well, I was there and I saw what they did
Saw a prog group’s pop demise
So keep your extra ticket, I don’t think it’s cricket,
I’m not going to see those guys

I can see Phil Collins’ thinning hair tonight, oh Lord
His bald pate gleaming in the glow of - a sole spot light, oh Lord
Can you see it combing over to the right, oh Lord
His shiny pate gleams in the glow of - a sole spot light, oh Lord,
Oh Lord

Well, I remember, I remember don’t worry
How could I ever forget, the first time, the last time, they played prog rock
But then, they kissed prog rock goodbye, tempted by pop stardom
No more Firth of Fifth
I watched a Jedi’s sad slide — to the pop rock dark side –
Now he’s the Pop Lord of the Sith

[BA-BUM BA-BUM BA-BUM BA-BUM BU-BU-BUM]

I can see Phil Collins’ thinning hair tonight, oh Lord
His bald pate gleaming in the glow of - a sole spot light, oh Lord
Can you see it combing over to the right, oh Lord
His shiny pate gleams in the glow of - a sole spot light, oh Lord

[repeat, fade, and go record some Disney soundtracks, you pop sellout bastard]

I went to see Phil Collins at Lallapalabala after taking my Ritalin.

Actually, I saw them on the Invisible Touch tour, which is when they went all poopy, I mean poppy. But this gets 5s.

555 for this parody, never cared for ~PC~, Many gents shave their heads . . . it appears to be a well-received style here in NorCAL.

I actually happen to a big fan of Collins' work, both as a solo artist and his work with Genesis. Generally, he still swims in money as compared to us, when all of us are so broke we have to resort to parody writing, myself included. Sorry if I'm sounding like a d**k. Leave the poor guy alone. I thought the pacing was a little off, but I'm feeling generous tonight. 555 bottles of Rogaine.
