Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

New season, new house...
The Yankees are champs repeating
Their success fits like a glove
The old stadium is quite empty
But the new house is filled enough

The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door

They're our champs

When Sabathia throws one over
The hitters miss his wicked slide
Mariano's in, game over
At the new home of great Yankee pride

The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door

They're our champs

Pettitte has the key to more great starts
Jeter won't let them fall apart
Win today, champs on display
In our new house with a chance to say
The Yanks are playing next door
Top team they're playing for
History's there we all agree
The end of the season we will all see

They're our champs

The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door

As Matsui drives runs home
Ming Wang will hold them down
New house same results show
Magic never left this town

The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door
The Yanks are playing next door

They're our champs

Great job on this one Mark, it was an honor to see the old ballpark last August for Oldtimer's Day, got chills seeing Whitey, Yogi and the rest. Perhaps the new home will break the drought, good luck!

5s for a well-crafted parody. But as a Red Sox fan. . . .

Thanks, John & Jim!!! On the radio today they were dicussing all the features of the new stadium, and it really sounds spectacular. I guess it has to be, for the most expensive sports venue in the country....

Being a purist, I probably will not go to see the new park anytime soon, as I have great memories of the old park. Last time I was there was game six of 2003 World Series when they lost to those Florida fish. Anyhow, it was an honor to be seeing the world Series for the last time in the hallowed ground.

Thanks, and good point Harry. They still haven't made any moves to demloish the old stadium yet. I was hoping they could have it declared a landmark and still utilize it somehow...
