The Lyrics

I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on that raunchy little nymph Olivia Newton-John. But I have to admit, if I had the choice, I'd prefer it her way, even though I'm about thirty years too late ...
METAPHYSICAL

I'm touching your body ways I know you like
Making good stimulation
I got you all steamed up just right
The Lover of your Dreams
I took you to your wildest fantasy
Champagne and a euphoric doobie
No juices left for us to blend
Unless it's philosophic'ly

Metaphysical, quizzical
I wanna get quizzical
Let's get metaphysical
Let me hear your abstract thought, meaning sought
What has self-discov'ry brought?

Metaphysical, mystical
I wanna insistical
Let's get real sophistical
What we fear and what we ought, that's my sport
Descartes and Herr Kant we court

List'ning patient, understood
Try to put ideas on the table
Is there a god who's coming back?
You know what it means?

I hope to understand your point of view
And know you fundamentally
I'll have you know that your bringing out
The Socrates in me

Metaphysical, quizzical
I wanna get iffical
Let's get metaphyffical
Let me hear your rhetoric, that's the trick
Hit me with your pure logic

No more physical, isn't cool
I wanna get quizzical
Let's get metaphysical
Let me see dilemma fork, cheese and chalk
Fallacy we boldly stalk

Is it not or izzical, it's your call
I wanna get dizzical
Let's get metaphysical
Soar the cosmos like a hawk, new paths walk
Let that inner spirit talk

Are we animal, mere mammal?
I wanna get flammable
Let's get into damnable
Let me hear your mind uncork, turkey talk
Let the jocks and bimbos gawk
Let's get free of dolt and dork

Quite a cool, creative and unique idea...sounds like a college professor's pick up lines...great for the intellectuals, but I don't imagine you'd have much luck with,(and forgive me girls, just a figure of speech, here) the dumb blonde type. Many great made-up words, lines and rhymes..like izzical and dizzical...iffical and metaphyffical..very funny, overall

If ever I get the chance to hit on Simone de Beauvoir, I'll keep your pickup lines in mind, LL ... And what's all this negative self-talk about being 30 years too old for Olivia Newton John ;-D

Better metaphysical than fiscal - had enough of that wrod lately. Well written turn of the song.

Thanks, guys - not exactly penetrating satire but I liked the concept. It was difficult to vary the choruses, hence the extended poetic licence. A few lines jar - don't like 'Herr Kant' - it's not hard to come up with a two-syllable philosopher's name or perhaps 'Kierkegard and Kant we court' and 'Aristotle in me'. Shoulda sat on it for a day or two, but it's just a bit of fluff really anyway. No one took me to task for the mis-spelled homophone either: 'that your bringing out' - get stuck into me when you see those.

@Lennie - Liv's a year older than me, so we're both too old for it now. I first saw her on Melbourne TV when she was sixteen, still at school. She was so hot even then, despite the 'goody two shoes' image. I'd still have her now as long as she doesn't sing to me, lol. Never really thought much of her voice. It's pleasant enough but hardly world-class, imo, though her many fans would disagree.
