The Lyrics

WE ARE THE BORG

There’s come a time when we pick up every call
When the world must stop in public each one
There are people yakking
And it’s time to bend an ear to phones
The shameful curse of all

We can’t go on conversing every day
That Bluetooth, someday will
Make us all strange
We are all part of some great Blackberry
It’s the truth, you know
Drones are what we’ll be

We are the Borg, we’re the collective
We work as one, we have a lot to say
So let’s all plug in
There’s a voice we’re hearing
Controlling all our lives
It’s true, we’ll send a lot of pay
To ATT

We’ll be a part, saying
“Can you hear me now?”
And our lives will be wireless, see?
Ma Bell has blown up, her clones are in our head
So all our friends be on on the plan

We are the Borg, we’re the collective
We work as one, we have a lot to say
So let’s all plug in
There’s a voice we’re hearing
Controlling all our lives
It’s true, we’ll send a lot of pay
To ATT

When you have no bars
It seems like you’re alone
But if you just drive up
You’ll soon be on the phone
Though we realize that eavesdroppers still get pissed
It is still futile to resist

We are the Borg, we’re the collective
We work as one, we have a lot to say
So let’s all plug in
There’s a voice we’re hearing
Controlling all our lives
It’s true, we’ll send a lot of pay
To ATT

Good stuff Rick! Quite a different take on Steven Cavanagh's same title; well done with a tricky song to do.

Yeah, Claude, I thought about checking after and noticed Steven's. I thought "Oops, i hope no one thinks I stole the idea, then I noticed I had actually left a comment back then. Laughed at my own joke, though. This is what happenes when you get old. You'll find out.

Good one. Maybe we could get a bunch of superstars together and sing it for charity - maybe a "phone for everybody" gig.

What a scary concept...."I hear and obey."

MICHAEL JACKSON WAS IN IT, BUT THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO DID THIS.

Wow Cody. I had no idea. I'll just delete this and include all the names when I re-submit. Thanks.

Cody is right, a whole bunch of artists got together and recorded this song ("We Are The World") under the collective name USA For Africa. All matters aside, I think this is fantastic and deserves a perfect 555.

Bob, I get the somewhat distinct impression that Rick Duncan was more than aware that CODY'S (shhh, Cody) feedback was technically correct. I admired the subtleness of his response :)
