He looked more like a grey babboon
From a Disney toon -
He wasn't mine, but I had to do what had to be done
While he prowled in the hills all around.
I had to be the one to take him to
The vet or to the pound.

Folks complained about a smelly cat -
Don't know where he's at -
Then every nose turned up at
Smells of sprays of that one -
Who would prowl on the roofs all around.

People always tell me stop and smell a rose -
But you can't if it's covered with cat schmutz.
Mama always told me be careful of what you touch -
You don't know where it's been -
It's probably unclean.

Smelly cat has a problem
He offends although it isn't his fault
Though the cat is not my pet
I'll take him to the vet and have him neutered yet.

So, every day and every night
He'd roam around outside.
The varmits hide when he's in sight
How they take flight,
'Cause he climbs up the trees all around.
So, trust me and get a cat
Don't call pest control for mice and rats.
(Get a cat.)

His tom cat like sounds a warning cry
As he roams around -
He knows how to make more wee smelly cats -
Cats just like him.
And he prowls in the hills all around.

Mama always told me be careful who you touch
For all you know it might even be Dan Hill -
Smelly cat stood by my door
With the smell of tom cat sweat.
I got the smelly cat and took him to the vet.

I feed him greens so he doesn't smell any more
And he doesn't go outdoors.

I keep him clean so life is a bed of roses
And he won't offend your noses.
