Original Song Title:

"Hallelujah"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Leonard Cohen

Parody Song Title:

"Ferris Bueller"

Parody Written by:

Lee Crowe and Alan Hochbaum

The Lyrics

A young man who was often bored
Ditched school one day as his reward
A thing that’s wished by every high schooler
He’d missed some days, an eighth, a ninth
He gotten himself so far behind
Some had no hope for good ol’ Ferris Bueller

Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bueller
Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bue-ooo-ller

Mom’s faith was strong but she needed proof
That her young son was not a goof
His shift in bed was just enough to fool her
As it turns out there was a string
Attached to a pulley and another thing
Mom thought the body in the bed was Bueller

Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bueller
Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bue-ooo-ller

Jeanie had been there before
She’d seen his room and walked his floor
She wished she lived alone, not as a Bueller
She knew her brother was a fake
Her mom would not give her a break
Oh God, how could her life be any crueler?

Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bueller
Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bue-ooo-ller

Dear Rooney we could tell that you
Knew that his story wasn’t true
And you don’t really care for Ferris, do ya?
He picked his girlfriend up that day
And in a red car sped away
He wore a trench coat and could not be cooler

Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bueller
Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bue-ooo-ller

In a parade he chose to sing
After claiming to be the sausage king
To a maitre d’ who was, let’s say, peculiar
Grace said he was a righteous dude
And Charlie Sheen was rather rude
And there was Ben Stein just repeating “Bueller”

Hmmmmm “Bueller”, Hmmmmm “Bueller”,
Hmmmmm “Bueller”…..Ferris Bue-ooo-ller

Nice capsulization of the movie and play on the title of the OS. Know some Leonard Cohen but not this one. Nicely done as a straight read, though.

Wonderful title sub; great rhyming and storytelling....excellent stuff. 555
m4sbwu: this song was a semi-hit for Jeff Buckley, and then again for UKs most recent X-Factor (like American Idol) winner. Check out the Buckley version; it's my fave.

Brilliant - great idea for a title sub.. though I can't stand the OS (I did have a parody part-written for the recent X-factor winner - e.g. "Did you win 'cause Simon Cowell wants to screw ya?" -, but dislike the original enough not to finish the parody)

This is really great! I love the Canadian Tenors version of Hallelujah. It's great! You could totally be the next Weird Al. You have amazing talent that I wish I had.
