The Lyrics

How I feel about the recent anti gay, pro hate law passed in the state with more gays than anywhere else.
If tomorrow people had to vote,
If you're marriage was okay.
And if you could have equal basic rights,
Not guarenteed to you because you're gay.
Then tell me how would you feel if they said
That it was okay to hate?
Beleive it or not this happened,
In a thing called "Proposition 8"

Now I'm ashamed to be a Californian,
How could this ever happen here?
I thought we were the only state,
Where it was fine if you were queer.

But I'll proudly stand up,
next to you and defend their rights today,
Cause their aint no doubt this law sucks a**,
F*** Proposition 8!

From the dusty roads of Fresno,
To the coasts and the bays.
Every conservative baptist needed to
Ruin the lives of gays.
But what was most dissapointing,
Was the way their campaign was run.
False ads including children that
spewed lies like a machine gun.

Yeah it sucks to be a liberal,
Living in the Golden State.
Where a law was just passed by republicans,
That approved this kind of hate.

But we'll proudly gang up,
And create a new law right away.
Cause there aint no doubt this ones unfair,
F*** Proposition 8!

5's, that's all I can say, I support your parody 100%, awesome idea, timely, and I would be ashamed too--very very good job, and I agree with you.

"where a law was just passed by republicans". California is a Democratic stronghold. African-Americans, who overwhelmingly voted for Obama, were the largest group against gay marriage. Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and many other prominent democratic politicians are on record as saying marriage is between one man, one woman but support civil unions. Instead of the usual republican bashing, whose minds wont change, maybe the gay coalition should work on changing the beliefs in their own party.

most offended gay or lesbian people just want the same privelges or advantages as married couples. Rights are constitution items we all have. a deal on insurance is possibly a phone call to geiko so look there for some savings. SOLUTION - #1 - someone who cares, start an insurance company that gives equal treatment to same sex unions as a married couple. you'll own the market and be first and always #1. ( unless hospital bills bankrupts your company. guess from what? ) #2 - dont call a skate board a car, just because it has wheels and is a form of transportation, and dont try to call a same sex union a man and a woman. ya cant change the meaning of the word marraige. come up with your own word, not Gods word. i have no problems with gays or lesbians, my favorite preacher was or is still a gay person.

Good pacing, no humor...average effort. While I wholeheartedly disagree with the sentiment that the movement to preserve the sanctity of the word 'marriage' is fueled by hate, it's unfortunate that I have to read anything that is politically charged when logged in to a comedic parody site!!
