The Lyrics

Here is song Number 6 out of my Weird Al Revisited Project where I parody all of the same songs that Weird Al has parodied and the same topics that Weird Al has discussed ONLY completely mixed up. This one combines Weird Al's "Livin' With A Hernia" with "Amish Paradise". Enjoy!!!
Yeah, uh! Get up now!
Ow! Feed those pigs!

Bright n' early... Reapin' oats
Headin' to church for a prayer
Power's not fundamental in our homes
When ankles are revealed
You'll hear me squeal

With our farming vocation... We'll lift barns
We're plowin' every day
While our wives knit with yarn!

Amish in Pennsylvania
Dawn till dusk - Harvest plantations!
Amish in Pennsylvania
Tend the land through cultivation!
Amish in Pennsylvania
Technology we're all hatin'!

Birth a foal!

Haystack! Horseback!
Coat and hat are both dyed black!
All night... Candles glow... Shave another ewe
Might save my soul
All you sinners... Are gonna bake, Hey!
I'm in Heaven, You're turned to coal!

You'll wake up before the sunshine
But you'll find that it's a fun time
When you're out on Rumspringa... Drinkin' wine!

Amish in Pennsylvania
Bake a pie that's filled with raisins!
Amish in Pennsylvania
Cows we'll brand with illustrations!
Amish in Pennsylvania
Never start an altercation!

I... Live in Pennsylvania
Fish for trout
While you live in Pennsylvania
That's the ticket!

You may not think you'd like workin' on farmland
But it helps to keep you in shape
Underneath those clothes you will be a babe
You can't wear jeans! (No blue jeans!)
Dress is itchy! (Dress is itchy!) Calloused! (Calloused!)
Phone's thrown away! (Phone's thrown away!)
Church is preachy! (Church is preachy!)
Work's not easy! (Work's not easy!)
Hosanna! (Hosanna!)
Make's it worth the pain!

Amish in Pennsylvania - With me!
Amish in Pennsylvania - Yeah!
We're all so devout
Amish in Pennsylvania

I live in Pennsylvania... Don't whine!
Workin' overtime! - Since
We live in Pennsylvania - Hey!
I'll plant all these beans! We're

Amish in Pennsylvania
Jedidiah - Come help me out!
Amish in Pennsylvania
City slickers shout
Snappin' pics while on vacation
Amish in Pennsylvania
Stack rice high on that shelf!
Amish in Pennsylvania

God is good!

Unless Pennsylvania is pronounced in some not obvious way to me I'd say "Amish' Pennsylvania" would have paced better - but yeah, this is a fun take, wish we had something like the Amish to make fun of over here, but our native populations up north (the Lapps, the Laplanders or the Sames depending on which translation you prefer) are so high tech that even raindeer herding are done by snow scooters and animals tagged with GPS these days.

I pronounced it - “Pens-el-vain-ya” which is a suitable replacement for “Am-Er-Ic-A” in my opinion. Shrugs.
Peter Andersson - November 06, 2020 - Report this comment
OK! I was under the impression it rhymed with Transylvania.

How do you pronounce “Trans-el-vain-ya”? That’s also a 4 syllable word. Lol
Peter Andersson - November 06, 2020 - Report this comment
Trans-yll-vain-i-ahh with emphasis on the i, and to some extent on the ll in yll - but I see now that I over-pronounciate the whole word, like a bloody tourist :-)

Technically, you probably CAN pronounce Pennsylvania as four syllables; or you can pronounce it with five, just as "fire" and "liar" can be two syllables or one depending on how you're placing and rhyming them in a song. The real problem here, as I see it, is that matching it to the pacing puts the acCENT on the wrong sylLABle: PennSYLvania instead of PENNsylania as it ought to be.

Amish men's broadfall trousers are sometimes made from blue jean denim. Of course, Amish women don't wear them. Last Amish store I visited, the proprietor showed me his solar powered fan and cash register. Another store had a diesel generator for the refrigerator. Wind powers the water pumps. The Amish are acfually ahead of the majority in "green" technology. Would tourists go to visit and shop if the Amish drove cars?

Thank you, Pennsylvania. Tonight, we're gonna party like it's 1699, 1999, or any year we want. That's what you can do when you win.
