The Lyrics

here come icebergs, lookin' cold and lonely
pull back the throttle, baby, what i say
here come icebergs...awful high, they are loomin'
down to the lifeboats, better make your way
we're out of action...out in the ocean
oh yeah...we're screwed, i'd say
evacuation...emotion
screamin' all the night time...into the day

we're loadin' all the women and the children
then loadin'...the rest of you guys
we hit a block...we hit a block of ice
yeah...we hit a block of ice

we're survivors...and we'll tell you the story
twas a mighty...ship to lose
we'd heard plenty 'bout its power and its glory
its been...a hellish cruise
forget relaxin'...jump in the ocean
hmmm...for this i paid ?
some vacation...what notions
woken up at night time...and led away

we're loadin' all the women and the children
then loadin'...the rest of you guys
we hit a block...we hit a block of ice
yeah...we hit a block of ice

there go people...seing davy jonesey
down to his locker, baby, what i say
here comes rescue, but they're not really zoomin'
they kinda dawdle as they're on their way
sound the klaxon...do you see motion ?
no...i don't today
no salvation...just ocean
we'll be dead in no time...and washed away

and afterwards, there's silence 'round that frozen rock
the trip went wrong...there was major loss of life
they hit a block...yeah...they hit a block of ice
hmmm...they hit a block of ice

A parody of Titanic proportions! LOL..."seeing Davy Jonesy", "screamin' all the nightime"..."sound the klaxon, do you see motion". Great writing against the pace and wordage from the original, and funny!

Good pacing.

Seems to be a great crop of parodies out here today, and this is one of them! :-D

Alvin - Well, Agrimorfee beat me to it, but I still have to say this is a Titanic parody. Alvin, every line in this thing is just great!! If I felt better I'd come with something clever on top of that but I'm a bit under the weather. Later...

Dittos on Jan's note, except to add that it's cold as ice! Very good!

This deserves a bonus for use of words and emphases so close to the original... seeing as the descriptions "titanic" and "cool" have already been used, I guess I'll have to make do with the hope that this parody goes down better than its subject did :-)

This one was "cool" (no, really, I mean that)! Sorry I missed it yesterday; I was so busy at work that I didn't have time to go on the net. Anyway, I vote 5-5-5.

Cool! Glad you shipped this one to us. Unfortunately, Agrimorfee did the obvious pun before anyone else had a chance.
Stuart Kidd - March 28, 2004 - Report this comment
Merely voting 5-5-5 doesn't do this justice; best of a very good bunch.
Johnny D - August 19, 2004 - Report this comment
restoring my previous 555 vote.

I would say this was cold, but excellent is more fitting. 5s.
