The Lyrics

Parody written for the One Week Notice challenge (see Events postings on AIR homepage) to create a parody for an obscure song, with the intent of multiple parodies by participating authors posting on Fridays. OS video (which I have not even heard yet) is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh2eqnnRYlI
Wake up one morning, you could end up dead
An aneurysm, or bad bump to the head
It is time to seize the day, work these plans ahead

Eat some French fries with liver on the side
See Disneyworld when it’s closed at night
Make your hair comb-over then paint your scalp white
Surfboard while you fly a kite

Eat those weird chip flavors made by Lay
Try seizing the day today
In the heart of Jersey City cosplay
Try seizing the day today
Yeah! Now try parsnips cooked in Jello, then pray
Try seizing the day today
In the park, try this I say
It’s Kick The Cops Day
Try seizing the day today

When movies begin
Shout out loud while you’re spoiling the end
Put a smile on your face and scream “Fire!”, see them grin

Now the next time you choose the karaoke
Just select “Single Girls” by Beyonce
But be sure to wear a diaper that shows your butt crack
And show ‘em your’re stacked, yes sir, Baby Got Back!

Now stick 20 Q-tips in your nose today
Try seizing the day today
And now change your name to P. Diddy, hey hey!
Try seizing the day today
Yeah! Now do backflips in a cesspool—ole!
Try seizing the day today
At dogs you bark ‘til they shy away
Try seizing the day today
Just do it your way
Try seizing the day today

Carpe diem’s the way
Carpe diem’s the way
Try seizing the day today

Next now burp a verse of “Oops I Did It Again”
Try seizing the day today
Next now try to wear your shoes with razors—pain!
Try seizing the day today
Pop all your pimples with a candy cane
Try seizing the day today
If Dennis Rodman visits North Korea again
I’m seizing the day that day
I’ll play all that day
The world’s gonna go away
Misanthropy is the way
Good day

I know you didn't want to sound like "Calling In Sick Today" the amount of absurdity in this tune is very Weird Al like in nature. Very fun bit of insanity though. Try not to get arrested but YOLO!

I you wrote this without having actually listened to the original it's amazing, most lines still pace really, really good. Only the third line threw me off enough to play that part back a second time. Don't bring those Q-tips to North Korea though, I heard there's a shortage.
