I thought it was an urban legend, but apparently there is a village in Austria called "Fucking". And not surprisingly a major debt post in the city budget comes from replacing city signs that have been stolen by tourists.

I seem to remember reading this... I always tell my children that swearing is a matter of context, and that words may be swear words if used in one way but not another. I guess if you're travelling through Austria, "F***ing" is not always a swearword (unless you're lost, I guess)

Saw a quip once by a European immigran that he was grateful his name was only two obscenities in English! "Fuchs" is a perfectly honorable name in Germany or Austria, no? Drie Funfen. (good thing there isn't a "sechs" rating, ja?)

Red Ant: As far as ballads go TOS is actually quite tolerable, or maybe I just think so because I had a short relation with a girl who liked to cuddle to it in the morning. Come to think about it she liked that too much, and had problems getting around to get up and make me breakfast, so she had to go. As for a follow up there won't be any in the foreseeable future, but not for lack of ideas, Boston's "more than a feeling" as "moving to f*cking" has already been tossed around as an alternative. :-)
