Once upon a time
Not so long ago

Tommy used to stand in the line
Waiting for his food
he'd bring home the cheese and butter, for supper

Gina sits around all day
watching all the soaps
'Is Tommy's bringing home the cheese'
she hopes-she hopes

She says: We've got to hold on to this welfare check
cuz its the only thing that we've got left
We have cheese and butter and that a lot
for us-we wont make a fuss
