The Lyrics

From The Album "Hungry Like The Goat"
Oh, oh, oh, Don't even got a dime
Oh, oh, oh, Don't even got a

I once was a semi-musician
Not that famous and not much fortune
I sold one CD
Cause my mom felt sorry for me
So now I'm broke don't even got a dime.

I once lived in a house above the ridge
Now I live in a box under the bridge
I was evicted
Just like everyone predicted
And still I'm poor don't even got a dime.

Oh, oh, oh, Don't even got a dime
Oh, oh, oh, Don't even got a

I then went to a music talent show
Some people said I suck and others said I blow
I ate an orange peel
Now I know how Hammer must feel
To be so broke not even have a dime.

Maybe I could make a comeback
But when I walked on in
They all said I was wack
Maybe men of Amish I could learn
And butter I could churn
But I'll stick with my margarine.

Who knows what will happen in this year
Maybe I'll be eaten by a deer
We'll eat some biscuits
And pay Ed McMahon a visit
We'll sponge off him he's got a lot of dimes.

I thought I was going to die
When I walked inside
A large pizza pie
I've pawned everything that I own
I'm living off a bone
And I think that I'm choking.

I made albums left right up and down
But just one only sold around this town
Why am I broke-a
I thought I sang real good polka
But now here I am don't even got a dime.

There is some real funny stuff in this parody. You show promise. Your pacing needs work, otherwise this would have been perfect. Your humor is great and you have very clever lyrics. I've read your other songs as well and I see overall the same thing. Voters will judge hard on this board and pacing is a biggie. Keep writing and count your notes to the original. Sorry, had to ding you on pace but I fived you on the rest because of your creativity.

Yeah I realize I'm not up to par on my pacing. However, the reason I usually don't try to correct it is to make the song mine. Instead of trying to imitate the original artist and make every line sound like that of the original song, I turn it into my own creation as much as i can.

(ABC) Eaten by a deer, and walked inside a pizza pie? Picture yourself in a song by the Beatles... Very interesting. :-)

Goat, I laughed right through that, I thought it was very funny and clever!

The pacing was awful. I recommend that you "turn it into [your] own creation as much as [you] can" by changing the lyrics, not the metric scheme. Otherwise it just sounds like you lack rhythm. And the humor was great in the beginning and end, but too random in the middle. So I'm going to have to give a 2/4/3 on this one.

I thought this was pretty funny...didn't expect much from the title, but from "Cause my mom felt sorry for me" on, I had some good laughs. Enjoyed it.

The pacing threw me a bit, too, Magical Mystery Goat, but there are definitely some great couplets here. My fave: "I sold one CD / Cause my mom felt sorry for me."
