and we're hoping that the Bills still won't go.
Out in Syracuse, they're still at home
on plastic turf

Well, our fathers lost their jobs at the mill.
Some of them are out of work still.

Well, we're waiting here in Buffalo
for annual big dumping of snow.
It's the kind they call the lake effect.
Swooping on down
leaving us wrecked.

Snowplows turn it into seven-foot wall
and we can't get our cars through it at all.
We might have to use some nifty tricks
borrowing
the Sabres' sticks
and we're sitting here in Buffalo.

We dump wings from Anchor Bar on the ground.
We thought sauce might melt the snow all away-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay...

Every child had a pretty good shot
to get at least as far as their old man got.
That's not very far in Wintertime days.

And it's off to work I really should go.
