Song Parodies -> "The (Taco) Bell"

Original Song Title:

"Hell's Bells"

Original Performer:

AC/DC

Parody Song Title:

"The (Taco) Bell"

Parody Written by:

Christie Marie M

The Lyrics

AC/DC may not be my cup of tea, so I thought that I would give it a shot anyways. Taco Bell is my favorite restaurants and I order the usual Burrito and Taco Supreme every time I go there. It's also feels nice to write a parody after a long time!
(Bell rings, then long instrumental rock intro as bell continues ringing)

I've got rolling hunger, giant pangs
I'm in the mood for some Mexi-can
I found this great place to go to dine
Those zesty tacos I'm gonna pine

I'll order five chalupas, wash with large Sprite
I can't wait to take a first bite
The Taco Bell, I'm gonna eat at the Bell
I'm gonna drive down, on my way down

The Bell
Taco Bell
You got me dining The Bell
My appetite's high, The Bell

So give me beef burritos, cheese nachos piled high
If you're into tacos, you're a friend of mine
Spread that sauce of fire designed to ignite
Volcano menu's hot, so extinguish it with ice

I'm drinking more Frutistas, quenching my thirst
I'm full my stomach's bound to burst
The Taco Bell, said "Yo quiero Taco Bell"
Great place to eat at, want to eat at

The Bell
Taco Bell
Gorditas served at The Bell
Ate it in one bite, that's swell

(Instrumental Solo)

Yum!

The Bell, thinking outside the bun
The Bell, I want Crunchwraps now
The Bell, whet my appetite
The Bell, seasoned with spice
The Bell, I'm fanning my mouth
The Bell, food's hot I'm bound to shout
The Bell, Mexican tonight
The Bell, I've stuffed myself tight, yeah

Yum. yum, yum, yum

THE BELL!
Yo quiero Taco Bell! Nuff said! In a way, Taco Bell reminds of this South Park episode where J-Lo ends up working at the La Taco restaurant (another Taco Bell-like restaurant).

Great to see 3 AC/DC's on the same day. Sounds tasty by your descriptions. Don't think we get Taco Bell in the UK (haven't seen any) but I certainly like a good taco (or any other Mex food that I've tried). Hope it's better than some of your other fast foods (McD's in particular - except for their milkshakes).
PS - LOL @ your header. Did you enjoy the AC/DC experience?

Bell's the best. try the $5.55 special!
Christie Marie M - June 28, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, lots, Andy and Mark! :)

Andy - It's an AC/DC fest for ya, because we're submitting it for the Artistry comp. In regards to fast foods, although I still favor some other fast foods like BK and Mickey D's, when I'm in the mood for Mexican food, I would get Taco Bell anytime! As for enjoying the AC/DC experience, I gladly admit to enjoying their music after all.

Mark - Thanks for your comments as always! I could sure go for a $5.55 special right now. I'll get one when I go to The Taco Bell!

You definitely know your Taco Bell...would make a good ad jingle..nice work..

Christie - Wonderful to see the block broken. I don't know where you call home, Christie but 'round here Taco Bell is called Taco Hell. We have a lot of mom and pops places here and most are really good. We have one chain called Taco Cabana which is the best fast food Tex-Mex place i've ever seen. No, yo quiero, toco bell, pero yo quiero Taco Cabana muy mucho. Yo recibo un dolor del estómago cuando yo como en Taco Bell y no algunas veces pero todos veces que yo voy allí comer.

Translation - Spanish longhand saying that I get ill eating at Taco Bell but not at Taco Cabana.

¿Tu tienes hambre? No yo soy por Taco Bell.

Literal translation for gorditas is little fat thing. Bad Mexican food - good parody! Here's three fives, take them to Taco Cabana and feast.

Taco Bell makes me feel sick, I've always called it Taco Hell, but I love Cinnamon Twists and Fruitistas (which you referenced)

DKTOS, but frequent fare here as well. (Think ya missed the point of the "AC/DC" gags - or maybe chose to ignore them. :-) Five burritos, five enchiladas, and five Tuna Tacos.

Thanks lots, AFW, PAK's writer, Guy, BA Dave, and TT! :)

AFW - That is so true! And speaking of Mexican Food jingles, this 1993 Energizer commercial came to my mind as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_78Csv5iOoE&feature=PlayList&p=9C37FDFA5A036559&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=14. So if Ted Nugent could do Mi Cuca Racha, AC/DC can do Taco Bell as well.

PAK's writer - Nice to entertain you with this appetizing ditty! :)

Guy - Speaking of Taco Hell, one time I went to Taco Bell, when it was time for me to place my order, this dude greeted me with: "Welcome to Taco Hell, what can I get for you tonight!" I was cracking up so hard when he said that! But he told me that if the manager heard him talking like that, he would've been fired. Oh, and love to try at Taco Cabana, if they ever had a franchise in Jersey where I live.

BA Dave - I understand completely! I could make anyone sick also, especially with the onion E.Coli incident that happened in that restaurant a long time ago. Ditto on Taco Hell, see comment told to Guy above yours. Yeah, love those Cinna Twists and Frutistas as well.

TT, who prefers TTuna! - Thanks. Yeah, maybe I missed the point of the AC/DC gags, but still had a kick out of them when I read your email. Thanks for those treats. Oh and I'll check your parody as well.

Thanks lots, MotelHellica! :)...Enjoyed your cute phrases. (I cannot believe that comment didn't appear right away! I nearly missed that comment)! And have weaknesses for furry critters and zesty fritters!

I don't mind eating there every once in a while. Their quesadillas aren't bad. 555

Thanks lots, Jonathan! :)...Love those quesadillas! My first ever quesadillas I ate was when I was in 4th grade.

Excellent work, CMM! :-) I love the Tortadas, Chalupas, Gorditas, crunch wraps, Volcano Tacos, Fiesta Potatoes and Caramel Apple Empanadas, and I am so addicted to their Fire Sauce (extra-hot pepper sauce) that a mutual friend who manages a Taco Bell gives me all his close-dated (close to the pull date) Fire Sauce so he doesn't have to throw it away. I like AC/DC as well. 5s.
Christie Marie M - June 29, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Andria! :)...Your v/c's are much appreciated, friend! Gotta love Taco Bell and gotta love AC/DC! And I so love those Caramel Apple Empanadas (explains my weakness for sweets), Volcano Tacos, and Fire Sauce! But I miss those Blackjack Tacos. :( They were my favorite! My bro and dad are big Fire Sauce fans. And I also get addicted to Fire Sauce as well! See you soon!
Agrimorfee - June 30, 2010 - Report this comment
This could definitely work as TB's next commercial jingle! (their Margarita Frutista I had recently was mighty tasty, but the chicken-bacon-ranch tortada, meh)
Christie Marie M - June 30, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Agri! :)...Yeah, this would make a great jingle indeed! As a matter of fact, this clip gave me an idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_78Csv5iOoE. To repeat my comment to AFW and to you, if Ted Nugent did a jingle for a fictional restaurant Mi Cuca Racha, AC/DC could do a Taco Bell jingle as well. And love to try Margarita Fruitistas too.

I used to work at Taco Bell and I hated it. I love their food though and this parody. Taco Bell is even better when you're drunk but make sure you have a sober friend driving you there.
Christie Marie M - June 30, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Matthias! :)...Sorry to hear about your unpleasant experiences at Taco Bell. I love their food too, but I wouldn't be caught dead working at Taco Bell, that's for sure. Yeah, as soon as I have a sober driver friend, next time I go to the Bell, I'll bring some margaritas there! LOL!!

(Artistry) Rex, you're not alone. I'm pretty sure that Taco Bell doesn't exist in Australia outside of references in American TV shows. That said, some terms in this parody confused me as I'm not well versed in Mexican food, but that's my fault, not yours. Still worthy of a 555.
Christie Marie M - July 13, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, bobpie/T-COP! :)...I don't think it's your fault that you're confused the terms of my parody. Hey, Taco Bell isn't available in certain countries. Sometimes it's OK to get confused about it. But other than that, I'm glad you enjoyed my parody!

Thanks, lots again, BA Dave! :)...Oh, my God, Dave! I can't believe I missed thanking you! I was in a rush that time. I'm so sorry, even though it's a very short comment and you did post one before. But I'm still sorry to hear that Taco Bell made you sick. And glad you enjoyed the second time.

SOTM: Glad to see I'm not the only one that calls it Taco Hell. Nice work with the original song, but the pacing was a little off in some places, 455.
Christie Marie M - July 17, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Abbott! :)...(Nods head) Thank you also for pointing out my pacing issues. You're right about it being off in some places. I should have paid a lot more attention to the OS while I was working on this. I've also been a little rusty lately...But anyways...I'm also glad to see you're not the only one who calls it Taco Hell and I'm also glad that you still enjoyed my parody.

Christie - As you can see I have already done some extensive commenting on this parody. Very well done and it's still Taco Hell - Have you been able to find a Taco Cabana yet? South Texas will spoil you for Mexican food. You never look at places like Taco Hell the same again.
Christie Marie M - July 19, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Guy! :)...You know this Taco Cabana thing is making me hungrier by the minute. I saw the website for that restaurant but it's too bad I don't live around South Texas. I'm from New Jersey and there's no Taco Cabana there :(. Hey here's an idea: How about spoofing "Copacabana" to "Taco Cabana". Either I or anybody else can write that parody. BTW, nice to see your comment the second time around.

Food and booze seems to be a major theme in this round. This song was pretty good but I did not understand how you wanted the corus to be sung so I'm docking a point on pacing, but just one because I've done this one myself and the chorus is the tricky bit.
Christie Marie M - July 26, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Pete! :)...That's OK. Yeah, I screwed up a little on the pacing and you're right to dock it one point. I should've worked extra harder on it. I also agree that it's the tricky part. Thanks for your v/c.

I liked this, you worked almost every menu item including some of the seasonal ones in there. I was hoping to see some off the wall stuff (like a chiuaua taco, limited time...and whatever happened to that spokes-dog anyway? Ended up as a limited time special, lol!) But well done!
