Speaking as a decade police officer, I'll tell you that this song is from the 80's. Speaking as myself, I thought this was a really great parody, and I enjoyed it. So I'm going to vote 5,5,5.

PLS; thanks for vote...and if it's neccesary for technicalities to be this pin point accurate..the song was written by Mark James, Wayne Carson Thompson, and John Christopher...recorded by Elvis in 1972. On an album by Brenda Lee in 1973..and you are right about the "80's" for Willie's version, which came out in 1982.

Mark James wrote it for Elvis. He also wrote "Suspicious Minds" and "Moody Blue." He also did "Hooked On a Feeling," "The Eyes of a New York Woman" and "Everybody Loves a Rain Song" for B.J.
