Original Song Title:

"Excitable Boy"

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Ignitable Boy"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

He was making the dinner but being careless.
“Ignitable boy,” they all said.
He was using charcoal lighter, a whole mess.
“Ignitable boy,” they all said.
“He will be an ignitable boy.”

He took out a match and then scratched it to spark.
“Ignitable boy,” they all said.
It flamed up and he was happy as a lark.
“Ignitable boy,” they all said.
“He will be an ignitable boy.”

He felt kind of woozy from inhaling fumes.
“Ignitable boy,” they all said.
He tossed the match without leaving adequate room.
“Ignitable boy,” they all said.
“He will be an ignitable boy.”

Then just as they’d feared, the flame did a backward roam.
“Ignitable boy”…first his head.
Condition would be grave….fire department on the phone:
“Ignitable boy!” what they said.
He’d become a firefightable boy.
