The Lyrics

The Godzilla pantheon is full of kaiju that have battled this great beast. However, Mothra is one of the most popular and beautiful. So what happens is Godzilla has a little change of heart?
Verse 1: Lab creators, nuked our genes
We've grown to cause such fears
We've fought and bickered, had no choice
It's brought me to tears
Hello, hello there, it's you, Mothra?
It's me, God-zilla
Let's pause this brawling, time to listen
I'm sorry I've killed us
Cuz it's been 50 years or more
Since, Mothra, we have brawled
This might be too lofty
Should we even fight at all?

Chorus: Man, those were the ways we'd chosen
Tyranny and woes
And Mothra, all the world was food and all you were was meat
There was no construction
Could withstand our destruction
And we'd fight 'til both of us were beat...

Verse 2: Just know my temper's colder now
Shoulder's colder too
Forget the grudges, forgive our sins
You know, I've been such a fool
Flutting off, you block the sun
Succumb to your allure
We were both so young and stupid
Now I know for sure

Chorus: And, gone are the days of fightin'
Laser beams and bitin'
Mothra, all that's left is you, but will you forgive me?
For the sake of Tokyo
I promise I won't choke, no
And I'll save you from a life of pain

Verse 3: I know that I was so destructive
I guess that I still am
Anger needs better outlets
I'll roar, like I can
I know that our being together
Never was the plan
But Mothra, Mothra
Love you more than Japan!

Chorus: And, won't cause the death of millions
Insects and reptilians
Mothra, all I need is you and all you need is me
Our union is calming
I can't speak for our offspring
They will wreck the world another day

And if we ever get a craving
We'll just smash Gifu...

Song is a boring trainwreck but you did a lot with it. I really like the Godzilla franchise so it's nice to see a good parody about that big lug especially this time of year!

It was either this or a "Bad As Me" parody about the Oogie Boogie Man from Noghtmare Beofre Christmas. Feel very in the Halloween spirit. Tis the season...

I don't know much about Godzilla (I know the basics, who these characters are)...and even though I agree that the OS is pretty boring, I think your spoof made it an even more touching song about forgiveness and it's really funny to think of Godzilla and Mothra (great title sub, by the way) sitting and catching up on the phone. Excellent job!

A sweet little parody. I wished you had made a reference to the two tiny girls from the original movie who summon Mothra to life (all the mythology, such as it is, is lost to memory anyway). 555

The two girls are fairies called Shōbijin. They sing a song called “Mosura No Uta" that will summon Mothra to rescue them.

(Artistry) Usually when there's a topic I know little about I tend to get lost in the references, but I actually would've preferred more references here because the parody read pretty close to the original despite the different lyrics. I guess I can appreciate the image of a giant lizard-monster falling in love with a giant moth-monster, but you didn't really do much with it besides that image and a couple basic nods here and there. Maybe it's just the boring OS overshadowing it, I dunno, just my take on it.

I used to think Mothra was like other kaijus until I watched a movie one time. One of the few kaijus that can be deemed as heroic.
