JUST NEED A REST

I'm working my socks off to bring in some dough,
The hours are long and they just seem to grow.
Do help me please?
As I'm here on bended knee.

I'm given nothing but promises but no help at all.
There are those in the business, love to see me fall.
Oh, I feel it's wrong,
But I know I must be strong.

I just need a rest,
Told that it's for the best.
And told by everyone,
Everyone who's in the net.
I fear for my health,
I'm told that I should take a break.
And if I don't,
Maybe I would end up in bed.

I believe that I can manage every night and every day.
But my age lets me down, it gets in my way.
And as long as I'm able I will
Give it all that I'm able to.
