to have a wingspan...be set to spring, man
be kind to flies

to be swatted...to be not dead
but hanging unto life

and they scream....as they fly limply
not as cautious as a bee
they live hours, known as homely
they don't seek vengeance...when treated mean

no one knows what they're like...their insect feelings
fly and zoom...until their doom

no one tries very hard...to win favor
all of us causing woe...as they flew

through the screens...the herd all empty
and they congregate with me
though i tower...they all love me
with love and patience...they'll never flee

once my fist smashed...cracked 'em open
i would abuse them...i'd lose my cool
i was cruel..to flies i was bad news
then i would laugh...though i felt a fool

but that's hollow, zany and evil
slapped 'tween fingers, as they float
and if they quiver...i'd just try to spank 'em
twist 'em up...try to get their goat
