The Lyrics

Bernie Williams was a center fielder for the New York Yankees who played from 1991 to 2006. While he always had a weak throwing arm, his ability to track down the fly balls and line drives made up for that in his peak. Anyway there are some "certain groups of people" who thinks despite his accomplishments, the team shouldn't retire his number claiming that it would be like retiring number for which is stupid. So anyway...
Bern baby Bern! Bern baby Bern! Bern baby Bern! Bern baby Bern!
Bernie!

(Commentator)
Pitcher fires, whoa! One hundred miles wide
Players gettin' noose from nettin' up on the booth - Can they bear?
(the folks are screaming) Balls were streamin' - out of control
It was so vigoratin' - when the score board started to implode
I heard somebody say

(Fans)
Bern' baby Bern'! - Baseball forever!
Bern' baby Bern'! - Knock the next one out
Bern' baby Bern'! - Baseball forever!
Bern' baby Bern'! - Knock the next one out
Bernie!

Batting fraction (Oh ho ho ho) came from no such enhancement
(Bernie) Just couldn't play enough, (till he had to hit'em out) so he had to
hit'em out, (Oh ho ho ho)
The heat was thrown (bvvvvm...), tailing to the top, huh!
Everybody's cheerin' 'long (Oh ho ho ho)
And this is when the ball hits the pot
I heard somebody say

(Fans)
Bern' baby Bern'! - Baseball forever!
Bern' baby Bern'! - Knock the next one out, yoh!
Bern' baby Bern'! - Baseball forever!
Bern' baby Bern'! - Knock the next one out
Bernie!

(Bernie Williams)
Up away from the bat I hear cheering from the stands - I hear cheering!
That makes me glad there's (somebody) a support right there

Super stardom came from a trained reaction - Can you bear?
Contract's a pain enough, so I had to twist their luck,*
The beat goes on, climbing to the top
My throwin' arm's not so strong
Back then my glove was still hot
I heard somebody say

(Fans)
Bern' baby Bern'! - Baseball forever!(Aah yeah!)
Bern' baby Bern'! - Knock the next one out
Bern' baby Bern'! - Baseball forever, yeah!
Bern' baby Bern'! - Knock the next one out
Bernie!

It had to end
When will the chips gets hot?
Had to end
Once the chips gets shot

Bernie, Bernie, Bernie, Bernie...
The Yankees were that close to losing him in 1998-1999 offseason. To think they were going to go after Albert Belle.

Max P, how long have you been a baseball fan? Are you going to be a baseballer yourself one day?

Ordinarily, I would have given this a 5, but I had to dock you a point, to punish you for associating this fine man, this superb baseball player, and this good musician with... disco. Face it, the only good thing about the Disco Period is that the Yankees won 3 Pennants and 2 World Series therein.

Me becoming a baseball player would be swell, not going to happen.
