The Lyrics

Once again, my thanks to Phil Alexander for providing the inspiration for another parody. This parody of the British TV/movie comedy star Rowan Atkinson's character "Black Adder" was inspired by Phil's "Mr. Bean" parody and comments. My wife and I like the "Black Adder" series so much, we have been known to rent the videos! This "Black Adder" parody is about the 2nd series, when Rowan plays Edmund Black Adder, a sleazy, conniving nobleman of 16th century England, always trying to kiss up to the Queen and gain more wealth and power by any means necessary...
Good Hope Cape ship bound for Normandy
Old Captain Rum gets drunk and lost at sea
Scarred old sailor think's he's doin' all right
Drinkin' piss with Edmund just around midnight

Black Adder!
Does your piss taste so good?

Black Adder!
Just like a fine wine should!

Drums beatin' cold, English blood runs hot
Choppin' head of Lord Farrow - told too late to stop
Edmund knows that he's doin' all right
You should have heard him fake Farrow's voice right

Black Adder!
Hide your face with a hood!

Black Adder!
Fake Farrow's voice so good!

( instrumental )

Black Adder!
Lord Flashheart's ego soars!

Black Adder!
Kick Baldrick's ass once more!

Lord Melchett wants to have a drinking spree
Challenges Edmund, who soon agrees
He's no school boy, and he knows what he likes
Guzzlin' his "special ale" around midnight

Black Adder!
Get drunk and hit the floor!

Black Adder!
Kiss Queenie's ass once more!

I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, wooo!!

Does your piss, does your piss taste so good?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, wooo!!

Just like a, just like a fine wine should!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, wooo!!

JD, Blackadder is great and so is your parody!

Thanks Adagio and Peregrin! Adagio - the specific "Black Adder" (or "Blackadder") series that this parody is based on first ran in 1986. There were four Black Adder series, and I think they all ran in the 80's - 90's. Each series was a self-contained set of funny stories about the successive descendants of "The Black Adder", a sniveling, sleazy English nobleman who, in the first series, was one of the English King's sons, then in the second series (the one I parody here) an English Lord descended from that son-of-a-King, then in the third series a butler/footman to the Prince of Wales (again, that footman character having been descended from the previous two Black Adders), and then in the fourth series, an English army officer in World War I, again, a descendant of the previous 3 Black Adders.

If you like Monty Python, you'll like Black Adder !

Great job!

I guess I should see if I can scare up that video myself since you keep writing this stuff on Black Adder, JD. I like most of Monty Python except when they get somewhere to the right of inane.

Thanks Jack and Guy!

Adagio and Guy - my wife and I really enjoy the Black Adder videos - we watch 'em at home and LourA'sO !! It's not all incredibly stupid inane humor - there's some clever writing and good physical comedy, too.

Hell, I missed this one, first time round JD - I've just done another "Blackadder" to this tune, but it's so different I guess I'll post anyway

Thank you, Phil .... the more the merrier, and the pippinier, too!
