The Lyrics

With the appearance of the T-34 on the Ostfront, the German engineers thought up a way to beat the tank using a new type of AT weapon which would eventually become the Panzerfaust. But first at HASAG they developed the first model which was the Faustpatrone (Fist Cartridege) which was basically a 3.9 in bomb weighing 5.5 lbs loaded into a steel firing tube which contained black powder propellent plug ignited by a simple grenade igniter. It was found that by extending the tube that the firer could firmly place it under his arm for more accurate aim and 3000 were produced from July 1943 and were and instant success against enemy armor. This led to the Panzerfaust 30 klein (30k) and then 30M, 60M, 100M, and 150M in March 1945, appearing much like the first Soviet postwar RPG-1 that they copied from the Germans. The RPG-2 was based on the Pzf 250M and that led to the RPG-7 which we are all familiar with. I belive that patrone is pronounced (patrona), hence the OS parody!!!
Ooh my little 3.9 in bomb, pretty bomb
Are you gonna be developed in time, Patrone?
Steel tube with black powder plug, black powder plug
Firing it after pulling the igniter Patrone
T-34 is stopped, blow it up. Better than a satchel mine
Always load it up with the touch of the most careful kind
Ger Ger Ger German
F F F Faustpatrone...

Approach a little closer huh, FP will kill ya
Close enough to get into range, Patrone
Secure the weapon if you please
Hold it under your arm with ease, Patrone
T-34 is stopped, blow it up. Better than a satchel mine
Always load it up with the touch of the most careful kind
Ger Ger Ger German
F F F Faustpatrone...

Into production since July ‘43, since July ’43
3000 coming off the line Patrone
New AT weaponry, weaponry!!!
Arriving on the battle line in time Patrone!
T-34 is stopped, blow it up. Better than a satchel mine
Always load it up with the touch of the most careful kind
Ger Ger Ger German
F F F Faustpatrone...
Since the Faustpatrone 43 (aka FP 1) became the Pzf 30k, I cannot find any pics of the original but plenty for the 30k, 30M, 60M, 100M, and even 150M. So here is a link to a German forum with an attachment that I cannot access. But you can still see the bulbous FP 43 as it started out: http://www.wk2ammo.com/showthread.php?t=5778 German soldiers today use the Pzf 3: http://www.armyrecognition.com/customer/thierry/germany/panzerfaust3t_01.jpg
