The Lyrics

City girls who work for this newspaper
seem to open doors with just a smile.
And Chief, old man, your deadline isn't later.
But Lois still comes in and writes with style.

Late at night, her penthouse suite gets lonely.
I guess even luxury still has its price.
And it breaks our heart to think her love is only
given to Clark Kent, I guess he will suffice.

But he tells her he must go out for the evening
to comfort an old friend who's feeling down.
But she knows where he's going as he's leaving.
He is breaking up a robbery downtown.

You just love those flyin' guys.
And his glasses are a thin disguise.
I thought by now you'd realize
the bullets will not stop those flyin' guys.

On the other side of town the crooks are working
with fiery eyes and dreams of what they will steal.
Should be glad it's not the Bat, he'd be berzerking.
But that still won't ease the way they're gonna feel.

He rushes to their heads, smacks them together.
He could have punched them out, that's not his style.
The cops say thanks, and he flies above the weather.
Heads back to Lois and you see them smile.

You just love those flyin' guys.
And his glasses are a thin disguise.
I thought by now you'd realize
the bullets will not stop those flyin' guys.

She gets up from sleeping with her strong one
and stares and sees him take off for the sky.
Another night, it's gonna be a long one.
A volcano, he can't let people fry.

She wonders how it ever got this crazy.
She's glad she didn't date Clark Kent in school.
With Luthor still at large, he can't get lazy.
And lesser villains feel just like a fool.

My oh my, George Reeves and old Kirk Alyn.
They say a curse is on each Super guy.
Does it worry Dean Cain or the kid Tom Welling?
But now Christopher Reeve can really fly.

You just love those flyin' guys.
And his glasses are a thin disguise.
I thought by now you'd realize
the bullets will not stop those flyin' guys.
The bullets will not stop those flyin' guys.
Honey, you just love those flyin' guys.

This parody is faster than a speeding metaphor!

More powerful than "Locomotive Breath"!

Able to heap tall allegories in a mingled mound!

Bigger, longer, firmer & stronger than Edmund Fitzgerald's-----oops-----no, it isn't, although this parody IS better than most.

That clause should read "...as parodies go, this one's better than most."

Thank you, everyone. I wasn't sure if I'd be the first to pay tribute to Reeve, but I had to do it. Johnny: That particular possible effect of Earth's yellow sun and lower gravity on Superman has never been explored -- to my knowledge. How "Up, up and away" can he get? But then, if Superman really was super in bed, Teri Hatcher would not now be a "desperate housewife."

I enjoyed Christopher Reeve's 'Superman' films. To the extent that when King Zog of Albania was referred to in an article in a paper, all I could think of was Terence Stamp as General Zod! Strange that Marlon Brando (Superman's real dad in the first film) and Reeve should go within months of each other.

Seems like I missed this one yesterday...how could I? Oh well, it was a real nice tribute to Chris Reeve, and I think you did a fine job with it. 5-5-5. :)
