Song Parodies -> "Gross to You"

Original Song Title:

"Close to You"

Original Performer:

The Carpenters

Parody Song Title:

"Gross to You"

Parody Written by:

Rick Duncan

The Lyrics

Why does gas suddenly appear?
Every time I drink beer
It's just like me
To always be
Gross to you

Why do I always let one fly?
Every time you walk by
It's just like me
To always be
Gross to you

On the day that you were born
I was twelve and reading porn
And making all my classmates sick in school
And I thought that making all
Those lovely sound effects with armpits
Was so cool

That is why I'm a funny guy
As I point to my fly
It's just like me
To always be
Gross to you

Waaahhhhhhhhh....
Gross to you

(Big Belch!)

maybe we should check out whether or not the song has been done before??

Don't mind Malcolm; he writes so many it's a miracle he even noticed--and I'd be shocked if he always checked first. Besides, yours was better (sorry Malc). "I was twelve and reading porn" was my favorite line.

Malcolm is right about checking, but we can't be sure that Duncan didn't check first and then improve on the earlier version. Whenever possible, I think it's good to credit earlier writers with having the idea first and to give them that respect. Rick: I enjoyed this one. It's a perfect response to my own "I'm Smelling You Now" from a while back. The human body and social taboos--what would parody writers do without them? d;:^)

just a hello to malcolm, new to this, obviously, you're the parody factory, I'm a newbie who mostly does his own songs, this is a sideshow. Didn't mean to step on your toes, we must have been kindred in other life---Love your stuff, but give me some time to mush through it. I won't steal on purpose, promise R
