The Lyrics

I'm hereby responding to Meriadoc's wacky call to have a song competiton of songs containing the words "the corne is out of Parc an Venton"..............check out their "Weird Comp" thread under Song Competitions.........need more entries everyone
When the corne is out of Parc an Venton
Mother Mary comes to me
no more corne tonite boys
let it be
and in our houre of darkness
we don't know, our next meale, what will be
Mister Parc please, there must
some corne be!!

"We're corne-free - We're corne-free
We're corne-free - We're corne-free
Corne is out of our place - tragically"

And all the broken-hearted people
wanting for their corn to feede
corne is gone where their corne
used to be
And those that still have uncracked corne
there's still a chance that they might eate
- not though Mr Venton
stupidly

stupidly, stupidly
stupidly, stupidly
no corne stashed at his home, stupidly

And when the broth is cloudy
there should some crunch be, to make it sweete
Corne is out of that meale - boringly
I wake up from my corne-free slumber
Mother Mary comes to me
"Is the corne come back Mum?" pleading me

just a wee - bit there be
but it be - not for we
Jim crack corne but I don't
care for he

come on - have a go - need 7 entries

I don't go to Amiright's message board, can somebody explain this song to me? Are you supposed to write like Geoffrey Chaucer?
Jeff Reuben - December 03, 2004 - Report this comment
Most interesting, yes, I assure you.
Stuart McArthur - December 03, 2004 - Report this comment
thanks alvin, thanks Jeff, Olvan - Meriadoc wanted parodies using a myterious line she found in a centuries-olde will

Yeah, all right!! Superb, Stuart!! I just submitted my entry, "When The Corne Is Out Of", a parody of The Doors' song "When The Music's Over".
Tim Mayfield - December 03, 2004 - Report this comment
Is that pronounced 'corn' or 'corny'? Is this brought to us by the silent letter 'E'? I might be givin' ya some silent number 5's.

thanks Johnny, and good luck (ie. break that leg) with the next stages of your audition, if you didn't read my thread message

who knows, Tim - but I found it heaps of fun mixing the syntax so lines sounded wrong but still the meaning came thru, which is how all that olde stuff always seems to me - have a go - it's not like you're not prolific!!! - check out the song contest thread on the message board - "Weird parody" :-)

Fine job, Stuart! The Middle-English spellings were enough to produce more than a few laughs from me. :-) 5-5-5

I will reserve my voting for the contest, but thanks for entering Stu! Looks good! :-)

Stuart, prolific? Me? I've been here a whole month and I've only posted 49 parodies... I must be like the least prolific one here. ;-)
Adagio - December 06, 2004 - Report this comment
Tim....sorry, but with 49 whole parodies you can't claim to be the least prolific one here. For myself, I'm lucky to get in 6 a month. Count your blessings! Or muses! :D
Stuart McArthur - December 06, 2004 - Report this comment
Adagio, did you just take Tim seriously then??
Adagio - December 06, 2004 - Report this comment
I guess I did, Stuart...I've never noticed the exact number of parodies Tim has made but there are tons of them.
