Alvin: There are numerous versions of this song, but the very orginal is still my favorite one.

AFW: The secret to not letting parodies stress me?: If they take more than about 5 hours to 'flesh out' (and 8 to complete), then I basically say "screw it", and ditch the idea. Trying to force ideas into songs just doesn't work for me, which is one reason why I didn't get a lot posted this month or last. And, it's really no big loss if AmIRight doesn't see the 53rd version of "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" or 45th version of "Without Me" any time soon (two songs that I now refer to as "time sinks").

Joel: I never would have made *that* conection, but it is amusing all the same. ;-)

Meriadoc and Stu: I'm not sure why, but -ire words almost always work better as 2+ syllables.

Was the "coupon" pun (for "keep on") too strained?

I don't know if there's a proper name for this genre, so for the moment let's call it "blog type parodies", and here's another idea for you for it: Midnight Oil's "Beds are burning" as "Red Ant's burning (his midnight oil)", or something along those lines. :-)

Thanks Peter. As for the genre, I think this is more of a plain, old-fashioned "writing parody" parody. By not mentioning my own name, or words like "pace", "AmIRight", "DKTOS", "parody" etc., it isn't site specific, which I try to avoid now. Thanks for the suggestion too, though I'll pass for now - IHTOS, and name dropping myself (again) isn't what I'm looking for.

A parody we all can relate to... As for me the Midnight Writing is college essays do the next day though.
