The Lyrics

This is the revamped version of my first parody I submitted on AmIRight in the year of 2006. I just had to clean up some pacing errors before submitting this one for the Artistry contest. This song is inspired by the movie The Witches, sung in Luke Eveshim’s POV. For those who had never heard of the movie, here's the trailer for it: The Witches
Heard my dear gram, who talks about witches,
those creatures nobody knows
Heard the Grand High Witch, strayed in the hotel,
the place where everyone goes
Those witches caught me, right in their bedroom,
transformed me into a mouse
I've grown brown fur, a long skinny tail,
I might get used to it now

I am not joking, it's a fiasco,
I am not fooling around
Those witches prancing, their hocus-pocus,
Got to escape from them now

Report the message, to Bruno Jenkins,
wonder what he's gonna say
Tried to break the news, right to our own parents,
they don't even know our real names
Right in the hallway, the maids are cleaning,
they're getting ready to roll
I sneak during teatime, and I creep in the nighttime,
got to find myself a hole

No time for playing, through this fiasco,
No time for fooling around!
Can’t run no faster, got heebie-jeebies,
I'm feeling hungry right now

They conquered Norway! Invaded England!
Some in the U.S.of A!
I should've known not to stand near their glass door,
their cat had chased me from there
I got their formula, right from their bedroom,
to stop those witches today
But I ain't got no sneakers, ain't got no glasses,
ain't got my pet mice to play

Why do some homework? Why go to grade school?
Gonna be different this time
Can climb the stairwell, can climb high places,
I can climb anything now

Trouble in hotel, got through those people,
we've blended in with the crowd
I told my grandma, hide me in kitchen,
we know that we ain't allowed
Avoided mouse traps, avoided house cats,
to prevent from getting crushed
I dropped the formula, right in the soup pot,
to stop those witches I must
The chefs have quivered, they feel so frightened,
I'm making everyone scream
I had a great time, working with Bruno,
we made a pretty good team
Kill all those witches? What good are witches?
They won't let you survive
My tail is hurting, smarts like a bee sting,
that chef cut me with his knife
The waiters serving, the witches' soup now,
they should be turning to mice
Those people clamoring, the melee's starting,
It's a disastrous night!
Enter Miss Irvine, the good witch who quit,
has turned me back to a boy
I feel so happy, I'm back to normal,
I'm feeling so overjoyed

Nice theme song for the movie.

Great work... I like creature transformations, and turning into a mouseboy ("weremouse" would be more accurate) is hilarious... 5s.

At first I was a little turned off, because I have seen the movie only once with very vague recollections. But I gave this a second read and realized how well this works on its own, without needing to know the movie. Great sub for "CBGB'S"; very epic. 555:

Thanks lots for your v/c's everyone! :)...Porfle: Glad you enjoyed. At that time I was a Talking Heads fan few years ago and loved watching "The Witches" when it used to air on HBO...Andria: Very interesting concept of a weremouse, exactly what the movie is about...AFW: Great pun on "tail/tale". Glad you enjoyed, and yes, it's a pretty long write, but I managed....Alvin: A tough song, indeed. It took me days to work on this one. Glad you enjoyed....Agri: It's nice that you found a way to find out how well my parody worked on it's own, without knowing the movie. Great concept, and yes, ditto on CBGB'S on heebie-jeebies...Matthias: Can't really comment? Well, you just did. LOL!! Yeah, I can understand how greek it is to you. Well, I didn't think anyone would still remember that movie. I didn't get to notice the movie until 2006 when it aired on HBO a while back.

(Artistry) Don't need to see the movie now that you've summed it up. Nice work on a tricky song.

(Artistry) Haven't seen the film or read the book, but this worked well enough on it's own despite all my knowledge of the source being a summary on TV Tropes ;) Great parody here, I love parodies that sum up movies, 555!

So I'm not the only one who went demented magic route with the Talking Heads. I don't know why, but for some reason this one caught me the best in this round, and not by a small margin. Easily my favorite in the round and since its the last one to be read, I can guarantee that's not going to change. . .and to my recollection I've never seen you in an Artistry round--so one heck of a way to burst into it, thank you for entering.

(Artistry) I haven't seen that movie in years! It used to creep me out so much when I was younger! I thought it was good, and the strange topic really helped push it over the top for me!
