The Lyrics

Got a new father here who has got his date calender out and he's shaking his head...he's never been all that good at math, but something doesn't seem to quite add up to him...
~ ~ ~ (rattle sounds and baby going "waah-waah-waah-waah, waah, waa-waah, waa-waah-waah" and then "daa-daa-daa-daa, da-daa-daa ,da-daa-dee" continually until 1st verse starts) ~ ~ ~

Mary, whose kid is this?
Doesn't look like me
Wonder whose kid is this
just who could it be
When you made this baby
I was out of town
It feels like you played me
like I was some clown

When you conceived this kid, well, I was not around
On the road, dear
Who'd you 'dip' with in the hay?
hey, hey, hey - please say

Mary, that's fictitious
know you shouldn't lie
Really, you should 'fess up
tell me who's the guy
Don't tell me "immaculate"
I am not that dumb
Someone shared ejaculate
please point out the bum

I'd be relieved if you would tell me which man
is the Father
Tell me who it was you laid
hey, hey, hey - just say

~ ~ ~ (break for more "rattles' and "waah-waah's/daa-daa's") ~ ~ ~

Your story has glitches
edges of it frayed
Who the son-of-bitch is
I want you to say
"Some day this will save me?"
That sounds like bull crap
Treating me like some dumb schmuck
do I deserve that?

Think I have been deceived, Mary won't say which man
Is the Father
Jesus Christ, kid, she won't say
no-oh-oh-oh, uh-uh, no way

~ ~ ~ (rattles and "waah-waah-waah-waah, waah, waa-waah, waa-waah-waah" and "daa-daa-daa-daa, da-daa-daa ,da-daa-dee" out to Fade) ~ ~ ~

Fitu, Phil, alvin & Rick C...Thanks! It was fun to write and more fun to do the voice-overlay recording - but I can plainly see that Stevie Wonder I am not ~ ~ ~

Oh, Lord, are you walking on thin ice here... even if it turns out the kid can't walk on water.
Paul Robinson - June 06, 2005 - Report this comment
Michael...why whatever could you possibly mean here? After all, it's just the story of some average "Joe" trying to figure out a paternity issue...happens every day ~ ~ ~ who knows, maybe things will work out for this young couple...maybe they just need to talk it out? And the kid could turn out to be someone special...you know, Doctor, Lawyer, TV News Anchor, Celebrity Personality, Talk-Radio Host, Professional Athlete, Politician, Mortician, Cable Company Exec, Religious Figure...who knows?

Rick C - June 06, 2005 - Report this comment
So, where do we go to hear the recording??
Paul Robinson - June 06, 2005 - Report this comment
Well, Rick C, that's a bit of a problem...actually a bit of a couple problems...first, I have no separate URL Website to post it on, and ChuckyG has said he can't host recordings on this site, probably for several reasons, including not wanting to clog up his server and God knows whatever else. Secondly, since I use the Original Song track and sing over it I would probably need to get copyright permission to post it anywhere for public consumption...I looked at some of the hosting Websites and all were pretty firm and clear in their posted rules that they could not allow such things...However, it you wish to hear it you could e-mail me personally (my "Members" listing in the "Messageboard" section of this site has my e-mail) I would be happy to send you a copy of the audio file - for personal use only, of course - I have dial-up and I know most of these files take about 20 minutes or so to download - at least for me. Thanks for your interest...I appreciate it ~ ~ ~

Well done. Monty Python had some similar scenes that they didn't use in "Life of Brian"..."You got knocked up by the Holy Spirit?" :) 555, BTW

Ho ho ho!

Sorry - couldn't resist - hee hee. Great parody!
Paul Robinson - June 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Well, Mer, that's a pretty inflammatory position...never said the kid WASN'T the son of you-know-who...it's just, well...as a guy, if I'm "Joe" there, I just...ah...have a little trouble with that explanation. LOL & thanks...OOOHH...feeling a little warm under my seat right now...wonder what could be causing that...?
Holly Farrington - September 11, 2005 - Report this comment
