Thanks for the props Adagio, and Agrimorfee. As to being "happily guilty as charged", he went almost 35 years promoting the stoner lifestyle, and after not being to catch him in any illegal activities, the feds finally decided to get to him in 2003 by having him mail one of the bongs he was manufacturing to Pennsylvania, where drug paraphernalia is not legal. The reason it was a screw job, in my opinion, is that bongs are totally legal in the state where he resides, California. He was so sure that he was not breaking the law, that he manufactured these bongs with his own picture on them. The DEA raided his home, and told him that in order to avoid the prosecution of his wife and son, who were partners in the business, he would have to plead guilty to the charge. He took the hit like a man, and now he currently tours with his wife doing comedy skits. I'm just glad Uncle Sam didn't remove his funny bone. Sorry for a such a detailed description here in this forum, but I feel his life was upended by a gov't agency whose only purpose in this was to prove they could bring down the mighty stoner. I guess war is fine, but comedy isn't too funny to the feds in DC.. This is why I wrote these parodies about him. PS- If in doubt that he would have walked away from a jury trial, consider this. California is the state that let OJ Simpson, Robert Blake, and Michael Jackson walk on much more horrendous charges than the ones that Tommy faced. If put to trial, no jury in California would have ever found him guilty. If anything, he would have been given a parade. Thanks again.

Funny thing, too- I've always abhored Tommy Chong..but after seeing him persecuted like this, & with our tax money, at that, I'd pick his side rather than the side of his persecutors...& if I feel that way, I'm sure many others do as well- so maybe there's a positive aspect to this: The actions of the Feds are just helping to foment dissent against themselves. Maybe more people will start waking up and realize that they seem more interested in prosecuting regular people, while the real criminals walk.

Although we may respectfully disagree about his humor, I am enlightened by the fact that even people not really interested in counterculture comedy can see this atrocity as a violation of his 4th amendment rights.
