The Lyrics

( long instrumental introduction )

In the mornin'
Farmer's comin'
With a pail of cold clear water

And he pours it
In your trough bin
Just to get your stall in order

And the horses
All are neighin'
As you grab some grain to eat

And your molars
Start their bangin'
As the sheep around you bleat

(Yeah)
Your cud's back, jack
Chew it again
Meal churnin' 'round and 'round
Your cud's back, jack
Chew it again

When you know
Fleas are upon you
Then you find your only friend

Is the Farmer
With a sprayer
And every flea meets its end

When you feel
A little bloated
With milk in each teat that shudders

That's the time
When you'll be wond'rin'
When will Farmer squeeze your udders?

(Yeah)
Your cud's back, jack
Chew it again
Meal churnin' 'round and 'round
Your cud's back, jack
Chew it again

( electric guitar solo - organ solo )

Now you moo
And kick - you're beggin',
Farmer Jones to drain your cream

Then you find
Your udders back in
Tubes of that milking machine

Your yogurt
Makes Farmer money
And he milks you when you're able

With his hand
He milks you, honey
And puts food upon his table

(Yeah)
Your cud's back, jack
Chew it again
Meal churnin' 'round and 'round
Your cud's back, jack
Chew it again

( repeat chorus and fade )

Yep, I got a special on an Amish Dell Dimension 8000 that runs on kerosene and cow chips.

Johnny, very clever. I loved it. I would change one word (picky pace bastard that I am): "Makes Farmer Money" to "makes him money". But that's not enough to mark it down (I'm that picky but not that much of a bastard).

Thank you Paul!

I can be just as picky as you....Here are the two lines in question from the original song:

"Your black cards" = 3 beats
"Can bring you money" = 5 beats

And here are the corresponding two lines from this parody:

"Your yogurt" = 3 beats
"Makes Farmer money" = 5 beats

.....but that's cool, since I have learned that everybody's ears and brains interpret rhythm and pacing differently....

Johnny, Hmmmm...yeah, after careful review, the beats work. Or is it "the beat works"? After a while it all becomes "the weats bork" in my head. proof-reading can be a bear with dyslexia.

I can relate, Paul... when writing and posting late at night, I develop temporary keyboard-dyslexia.

Thanks so much, Karlando. I listened to Steely Dan's album "Aja" a lot in college.

well its called syllables not beats. and even if stuff dont rhyme if they ends in the same note range its workable. some songs have hi notes on certain syllables so its harder yet to make things fit. thank you for christmas carols, simple chants to work with. the more into this i got the more i liked it. however like some things i have done, i think if we dont grab the audience in the first paragraph its lost. in this case even though its out of sequenc i would try to force that chorus up much higher, see if it fits the music. look once and see if you can drop the 4 stanza's then chorus to 2 maybe. dont get me wrong i like it and its wirtten as the original, i just think its going to need that to make it to the radio station. its a 15 to me.

Gary, thank you, very much, both for your vote and for your very thoughtful and insightful commentary. I am honored that you thought enough of this simple song parody to offer such in-depth and insightful advice - thank you again, very much, dude. You are a class act.
