The Lyrics

Clinton When He Lied
©2004 Michael W. McVey

I got over Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan,
Boy, they done us wrong.
I took it hard with Jimmy Carter,
He hurt us bad, but not for long.
There's just one I remember,
Makes me feel angry down inside.
Even Nixon was not as bad
As Clinton when he lied!

No there's never been a President
Who could make me burn inside,
And cause my blood to boil
Like Clinton when he lied.

It was bad in his first term,
With the women he was a leech.
It got worse in his second,
He even got impeached!
So if you ask me and I don't tell you,
It's safe to assume that I've died,
'Cause there's never been one badder
Than Clinton when he lied.

No there's never been a President
Who could make me burn inside,
And cause my blood to boil
Like Clinton when he lied.

When Clinton lied, nobody dies. Not even from embarrassment. Bill Clinton is the most honest President since Jimmy Carter, and that's the truth! Besides, the only honest Presidents of my lifetime were Carter and Jerry Ford. And how did we thank these two honest public servants? We voted each of them out of office the next chance we got. John Kerry for President: He will restore honor and integrity to the White House!
Jimmy Carter - October 17, 2004 - Report this comment
Well Mr Pacholek, no thanks for comparing Pres. Clinton to me. Who would you want to date your daughter? And as far as nobody dying when he lies, how about the Whitewater "suicides"?
Michael Pacholek - October 17, 2004 - Report this comment
Trick question, "Jimmy." I don't have a daughter. "You" do. As for the "Whitewater" suicides, there was only one, Vince Foster. And he was driven to suicide by the right-wing maniacs at The Wall Street Journal.

Well, my fellow Americans, the author of this parody insulted me too, even though I'm dead. Or maybe I'm still alive, I can't remember....

I happen to agree that Clinton was extremely immoral...an embarrasment to our country. You should see the things other countries say!

So frigging what? What has politician's morals to do with his achievements? Politics know no ethics and they do not know words "moral" and "amoral". They know only results. Failures like Jimmy Carter are far worse than womanizers like Bill Clinton. It's the result what counts, not morality nor immorality, and Bill Clinton achieved excellent results on both inside and outside US. He managed to put full stop on Balkans war and end a genocide. Something GWB hasn't managed to do in Iraq.

The worst president of US ever has been Warren Harding. He was both a failure and had nothing to speak of morals - unlike Clinton, his only child was illegitimate.

Well, - October 18, 2004 - Report this comment
I think that a man's (or a woman's) morals directly influence the choices that he makes regarding what he's going to try to achieve. So, I would say that morals have a lot to do with achievements.

Mike P.-I'll try to answer your question about why we voted out Carter. He was failed both domestically, with inflation going back up into double digits and rising unemployment, and in foreign policy, in part due to the Iran hostage crisis. As for Ford, I'm less clear, but the Republicans were generally in a shambles after Watergate. To ask one of my own, if lies only count when someone dies from them, then how many people died because Nixon's lies during Watergate? (I'll concede that he may well have lied about Vietman, but that is another matter.) As for Kerry restoring honor and integrity to the White House, consider: While he had the right to disagree with the war in Vietnam, he testified before the Senate that our troops there did some horrible things, with full knowledge of the chain of command, on a routine basis. Now, he wants us to downplay or ignore that, and respect him for fighting over there. (If he stands by this testimony, I would like to find out how he found these things out and what he tried to do about them). His campaign motto is "A Stronger America", yet in the Senate he consistently voted against measures that would make us stronger. He has claimed several times, including at least once on the Senate floor, that he was illegally ordered into Cambodia by president Nixon around Christmas 1968. The trouble with this claim is that Nixon wasn't sworn in until 1/20/1969, and is also contradicted by his own journal. Now, his campaign claims it was in early 1969. Either he lied about being there (or when), or his memory is faulty, which is troubling considering that according to him, the event is "seared-SEARED" (emphasis his) in his memory. I'm starting to realize the the problem with Kerry is not really "flip-flopping" but wanting things both ways. Susanna-Clinton deserves credit for ending the Milosevic genocide, but I would disagree that GWB has not ended a genocide. While the insurgency is persistent and continues to claim lives, the death rate in Iraq is far below what it was under Saddam, who by conservative ("cautious", rather than "right-wing", that is) estimates killed about 50,000 of his people every year. Gone are the rape rooms, torture chambers, paper shredders used on people, and prisons for children aged 4-11. Last week I believe, yet another mass grave was found. If nothing else, Iraq now has a government which is not carrying out deeds like those of Saddam. I would simply ask anyone to compare two numbers: Kosovars killed by Milosevic, Kurds killed by Hussein. As for Clinton's domestic success, find a copy his acceptance speech at the 1996 convention, where he lists the accomplishments of his 1st term, and a copy of the Contract With America. You'll find him taking credit for Republican ideas, while during most of his presidency, he and his surrogates (Carville, etc.) were badmouthing them. This is not to say that he deserves no credit himself, or that the Republicans were blameless, but that the man had a huge amount of hubris, and that his lies were not limited to a certain intern.

Susannah -- simple: they make great material for song parody and other humor! Also notice Clinton wasn't the only President I criticized ;) -- MM
