The Lyrics

Randy Travis, Country singer, most famous for his song, "Forever and Ever, Amen" was arrested near Dallas, Texas, after crashing his car and being drunk and lying naked in a roadway...
Who can guzzle liquor, beer, whiskey, or ale,
Party much too arty, and then wind up locked in jail,
The Randy Man, oh, the Randy Man can
The Randy Man, the Randy Man can
When he mixes booze with cars
That doesn't work too good...

Who can drive his Trans-Am, slick and shiny black
Need some cigarettes, and walk in naked for a pack,
The Randy Man, oh, the Randy Man can
The Randy Man, the Randy Man can,
When higher than a kite,
And does, what not, he should...

Who had better grab
AA or Rehab,
Stop this boozin' flood that flows on
Bailed in paper sheet, no clothes on,
Only Randy knows what goes on..

Who should put his brakes on, lock his steering wheel
Cut the crazy middle age stuff - cope with life that's real
The Randy Man, the Randy Man should,
The Randy Man, the Randy Man should
Stop living country lyrics, just sing songs real good

Who had better grab
AA or Rehab,
Stop the boozin' flood that flows on
Bailed in paper sheet, no clothes on,
Only Randy knows what goes on..

Who should put his brakes on, lock his steering wheel
Cut the crazy middle age stuff - cope with life that's real
The Randy Man, the Randy Man should,
The Randy Man, the Randy Man should
Stop living country lyrics, just sing songs real good

Lol, you'd almost have to say that the name would eventually lead him to some sort of personal downfall. If only Mr Travis had known it would have been immortalised in AFWs parody :) Good job!

If I may paraphrase your message AFW, for boomers, "Quit living in the Sixties" I see so many of my peers whose minds are still fixated in their "I'll drink and drug and eat as I please, all the while saying f--k you to my WWII generation parents" days. And they're not coming to terms with the facts that they're in their fifties where consequences of all this can get real in a hurry. Like they say, "one of the seven warning signs of an abused and unhealthy cardiovascular system is instant death"

Perfect timing, just read about it in my paper. I think he's having a downfall due to his 2010 divorce. He was married 19 years. He also was arrested earlier this year for intoxication in public. 555 on the parody!

What Lennie said. Also a very well crafted parody. Liked "Grab AA or Rehab" and "Stop living country lyrics".

Neil Young said it's better to burn out than to fade away, not fade away then burn out.

I was expecting this to be an autobiography -- good thing there was an intro. ;)

Maybe he was doubling as the Brandy Man...

It's like he's living the David Allan Coe lyric. Except it's missing mamma, trains, and the rain. At this rate, he may incorporate the rest of Mr. Coe's song in his next escapade (or Escalade, if he's a Lincoln fan).
