Original Song Title:

"Indiana Wants Me"

Original Performer:

R. Dean Taylor

Parody Song Title:

"Pennsylvania Wants Me"

Parody Written by:

Parker Gabriel

The Lyrics

Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
I wish I had you
To talk to

If a place needed to be abandoned it did
No one has the right to do what they did
To me
Or behave as though they ever even knew me
I never committed any crime
But they kept me imprisoned for too long a time

Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
I wish I had you
To talk to

They refuse to believe in what I can become
Or accept the blame for what they all have done
To keep me down
They'll never be happy till I am rotting in the ground
That means I have to avoid them
Till justice can destroy them

Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
(break)
I wish I had you
To talk to

I hope you get this message I have sent
Though I can't reveal exactly where i went
You know my plans
You also know my ambitions and that they are grand
I hear stages calling for me
And I hope crowds will adore me

Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
Pennsylvania wants me
But I can't go back there
I wish I had you
To talk to

(instrumental fade-out)
The original music for this was composed (as "Indiana Wants Me) by R. (for Richard) Dean Taylor, who was born on May 11, 1939 in Toronto, Ontario Province, Dominion Of Canada, and died on January 7, 2022 of covid nineteen disease in Los Angeles, California, just over four months before he would have reached the age of eighty-three. The response lyrics I have written are NOT narrated from the point of view of a fugitive murderer, but instead from that of an aspiring actor-singer.
