The Lyrics

While Im on the topic of dated parodies...remember that question of weather or not Mike Piaza and Sam Champion are gay lovers? Well here is the song about it...
they gave some clues
time after time
they said they were friends
but some say its a lie
Mike guards the plate
and hits good too
He plays the game while Sam
sits watching too
and they are partners partners partners partners

Mike, and Sam Champion are friends
but they'll make us think that
they like men
Mike and Sam Champion
Mike and Sam Champion
no time for weather
cause Mike and Sam Champion
ain't queer at all

Sam tells about clouds
and when the rain falls
Mike watches as Sam points and walks towards it
on that big wall
but then in bed they notice
fans think theyre queer
They consider it a problem that they just bought a place
together right here
and they are partners partners partners partners

Mike, and Sam Champion are friends
but they'll make us think that
they like men
Mike and Sam Champion
Mike and Sam Champion
no time for weather
cause Mike and Sam Champion
ain't queer at all

Mike, and Sam Champion are friends
but they'll make us think that
they like men
Mike and Sam Champion
Mike and Sam Champion
no time for weather
cause Mike and Sam Champion
aint queer at all

I dont think anyone out side the NY tristate area is going to understand this one

You're right, I don't get it. I think I got you beat, though. Two thirds of my parodies involve the plots of Shakespearean plays. I'm not particularly in to Shakespeare. It just happens to be what I'm studying in English right now.

Well, I live in the New York Tri-State Area, and I do get the joke, though I never heard Sam Champion's connection to Piazza. Though Channel 7 did once do a piece showing weekend weather guy Lee Goldberg walking out of a steam room wearing only a towel and holding a mike -- a microphone. Put it this way: If Sam wasn't the only champion Piazza has had anything to do with, if the Mets had actually won a World Series since Piazza arrived, or he'd been man enough to not whine about the bat-throwing incident but charge the mound in the 2000 WS and try to take Roger Clemens out -- well, Clemens probably would've knocked him into next season -- then we wouldn't be talking about Piazza possibly being gay. After all, Derek Jeter, who really does own New York, has won four rings, and the only people who think he's gay are Met fans, possibly having fantasies they'd rather not share publicly. On a mostly unrelated note, if Mr. M. Florio can set me up with Channel 7 reporter Michelle Charlesworth, all of his parodies will get triple fives from now on.
