The Lyrics

I do rather have a tendency to get distracted in the middle of a song I've done so many times in the past that I really ought to have no problems.. yet still manage to forget where I am. So I figure if I do that while performing this one, people will think it's part of the song :-)
Er... What was it I was gonna say?
Er... Oops, I think I lost my way
Er... Hold on, I'll get the lyrics out
Forgotten words
They make a cocked up world all round

Eh?
I know words to every song
Every time I sing along
Yes, I'm word perfect on my own, when there's just me
But standing up on stage right here
All those lyrics disappear
I sing something that's not what it's meant to be
Eh? Eh?

Been distractable for years
'Specially after a few beers
I start well, but then I lose it on the way, hey
Little beauty or a smile
And... where was I? Wait a while..
Then I lose them ditty lyrics every time

Er.. I've forgotten the next line
Er.. Do that nearly every time
Er.. yep, that's another one forgot
Forgotten words another cock-up goin' down, yeah
Forgotten words they make a cocked up world all round

Rendition here:
Though I've cocked up and I've cursed
And, yes, at times, even rehearsed
But it doesn't make no diff'rence, no siree
Oh, but it still sounds jolly rotten
'Cause I've been, gone and forgotten
All the lyrics to every song there's ever been
Forget this

Er.. (I know) What's the words I should have sung?
Er.. They're on the tip of my tongue
Er.. but still I cannot get it out
Forgotten words another cock-up goin' down, yeah
Forgotten words they make a cocked up world all round
Get out the book and READ!

Oooh.. that's what they are.. forgotten words
Forgotten words
Yeah.. got it.. alright, hey, I'm on!
Forgotten words
Oh yes

I would day the best song of the day but that would be an insult to Dave. Seeing that there's only two parodies up today. How scary is that? Almost as scary as forgetting the words to the song you're singing on stage. Hopefully you can remember these lyrics when you're performing them otherwise that would be just odd.

I'm totally still waiting for that Flight of the Conchords party by the way... With anxious anticipation.

I'd say the right word here is................ but I've forgotten how to spell that, so I'll just say un5gettable!

:-) Thanks all..
Matthias - patience is a virtue. Will get round to it
Rather appropriately, I played this last night, but had the words so I didn't forget them. Forgot the chords, instead (yes, I know it's just D, A & G, but I got them in the wrong order)
