The Lyrics

My 2nd Big 7, and the sequel to Chartbreak Pop Sells. More spleen-venting about the music industry.
Is this the Top 5? It's just stupidity
Stop with this countdown, it's just tragic hilarity
Top 40 guys, their voices disguised, you'll see

I'm just a nerd boy
My tunes are Japanese
Because the sales are high, tunes are low
Overplayed radio
Stuff that MTV shows makes me wanna vomit and scream
Boring......

'Donna... just scored some fans
Stuck a pop tune in their heads
Spent their money on this dread
GaGa... my headphones have shunned
They play her crappy music ev'ry day...
Miley... ooh-oo-oo-oo...
Your TV show makes me cry
And I'll hear "7 Things" again tomorrow!
D*mn Akon carries on, as if quality don't matter.....

Tune hate... has just begun
It burdens on my mind, more hit nonsense over time
Won't spend all my money, your songs have shown
That I don't care 'bout this kind of poppy tunes
Mama.... oo-oo-oo-oo (stuff that VH1 shows)
What was music like
Back when you were a kiddo like me, oh Mom!!!

I see a little-known cult hit speed metal band
Dragonforce, Dragonforce, will you play the fast solos?
Megahits so frightning, spreading quick like lightning, ding!
Lady GaGa! Miley Cyrus! Ol' Flo-Rida! Crap Sean Kingston!
They will not leave me alone!
Their songs have shown, oh no no no
I'm just a nerd boy, no rap or country
He's just a nerd boy, writing this parody
Spare him his life from this song-strosity!

I've heard some, and I know, they won't let me go!
Madonna! NO! She will not let me go (LET ME GO!)
Madonna! Her tunes are boring slow (LET ME GO!)
Miss Cyrus! I've seen her stupid show (LET ME GO!)
Other bands don't know (LET ME GO!)
Taste of big-time show (taste of big-time song and show-oh-oh-ohoh)
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

Oh Aguilera Aguilera (Aguilera let him go!)
He's had enough, and he's gonna listen to Lordi
They scream, like MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

So you think you can play stuff that I just might like?
Rather than hear crap pop, I would much rather die!
Oh, maybe
I might wanna die maybe
Just gotta get out
Gonna get you out of my ears!

Ooh yeah! Ooh yeah!
Bandwagon don't matter
I want quality
Your big b##bs don't matter,
I won't be swayed er#tic'ly!

I'll just watch my own shows....
5 more to go and the Big 7 will be vanquished...

Great job. Modern music sucks, and I listen primarily to oldies and classic rock for that reason. 555 gold records to you.

Great writing job and your targets well deserved your wrath. I agree with your sentiments in this one, even though I suspect our musical tastes differ - but we do ignore the same drivel. Keep it going on the 7.

Dude, well written. Mostly because I agree on most of this. Keeping it old schooled metal with me. 555

Great job on this one & you've just given me an idea for a different song

Pop music nowadays are just money-making BS. I'd rather listen to Benny Goodman or Glenn Miller rather than Miley Cyrus. 555 vinyl records for you, my dear... ^_^

Major thanks to everyone!!!

Well done, DJ! Though I do listen to modern music, I listen to all kinds of music in general. When I was 12, I got into country and classical. At 15, I enjoyed listening to 80s music. As a matter of fact, I still love the 80s songs. I don't always keep up with the pop culture all the time like my cousins. Great sequel since "Chartbreak!" 5's!

i've just done this song and im so jealous of some of your lines...using GaGa for Mama, brilliant and "Oh Aguilera Aguilera (Aguilera let him go!)" being the best! awesome work..look forward to reading more.

Love the title!! Love the song! Never would have thought of this, excellent job!

SOTM: Such words have never been truer. Awesome! In the words of AC/DC, "For those about to rock, we salute you!"
Matthias - January 12, 2010 - Report this comment
I agree with this first comment. This is your best yet especially with lines like: "They scream, like MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" while I disagree with you about Madonna and Lady GaGa (Love them both) I agree with you 100% on Miley Cyrus and most overrated pop music.

SOTM Well "played", not "over played", entry for the Big 7!!!
Max Power - January 14, 2010 - Report this comment
So you have finally done it...I really need to stop wussing out on big 7. 555 hits.

I have nothing much to add here, MTV is as dead to me as the Monthy Python parrot. :-)

SOTM: Excellent job! THIS is the best BoRap parody i've ever seen! (Sorry Tomario) lol
bobpiecheese - January 29, 2010 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Aw, but I like Sean Kingston! And Akon. And Flo-Rida. GaGa can jump off a cliff, though. Differing musical interests aside, this was a brilliant parody, 555 for sure!

Wow, a monumental rip on sh*tty music. Wish I had written this one. Def the best one of yours I've read. 5s+
Jeff Reuben - January 30, 2010 - Report this comment
Yes, a great job on one of the big 7 as well. I agree with the many others that this is one of your best, if not the best. Very well done!
Below Average Dave - January 31, 2010 - Report this comment
Pacing was not quite perfect, but close enough, agree with the sentiment, sometimes it amazes me what makes up the top 40, but then again, what would replace it, not a lot of great stuff coming out lately, very good idea to this heavily hit song.

(SOTY) great entry for the big 7
Agrimorfee - March 03, 2010 - Report this comment
(SOTY) What could have put it over the top for me would have been less repeating about Miley and Madonna...but the Aguilera sub was cool. We all know you love Dragonforce, but to other audiences...well, that'll evoke a kind of a "who is he talking about?" kind of reaction.
Arwen - March 10, 2010 - Report this comment
SOTY...I need to join the "this is your best work" bandwagon, DJ...this was great. We all know how much I hate Miley...but I do love quite a bit of pop music on the whole...including a lot of those mentioned here. Excellent effort, though...I really enjoyed this.
EmiLoca - April 08, 2010 - Report this comment
THIS IS TERRIFIC. Seriously awesome title sub and, parroting everyone else, probably one of your best yet.

I do like most of Queen's music but "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a little too pompy for me and it gets overkill play on the radio. I grew up with punk, New Wave, Pink Floyd, glam metal, reggae, funk and such. Nonetheless I LOVE your parody and I DIG the way you pace everything so neatly and slam every stupid pop-tart that pollutes the charts. Popular music for the past 10, 15 or more years has been nearly nothing but boy bands, gangsta crappers and LOTS of T & A. Every week AOL lets you hear new albums for free and rock-n-roll music is starting to rise from the ashes (finally!). Of all the new bands out now I like the Ravionettes from Denmark, Datarock from Norway and the Plastiscines from France. There's nothing new that's all that revolutionary (like say, U2) yet but give it time. You get 5 Platinum awards for this.

(ABC M & N) Can't believe I haven't read and commented yet, but this is very well-done, even more so considering the nature of the OS. As for my musical tastes, I prefer 1960s-80s rock, pop and metal, all classical, big-band, jazz and swing, New Age music, grindcore, goregrind, some punk rock, 1970s-90s country, parodies and anything by GG Allin. Awarding 555 gold records and the first Andria Award in quite some time... for a parody I could swear to God that I commented and voted on once before but didn't.

(ABC M/N) Another fellow Big 7 spoofer for this contest! Very epic parody! I mainly listen to all kinds of music whatever I'm in the mood in. Right now, I'm currently listening to 80's music and little of 70's as well. One of the most popular parodies you have written for this site and 555's popping of the charts for this one! Enjoyed it lots!

DJ - I have to agree with you on the pop music scene. I'd rather listen to nails on the chalkboard. Not a bad rendition of BR. Good luck with your next five to get that "Big 7". I'm out here rooting for you.
