Original Song Title:

"We Will Rock You / We Are The Champions"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Queen

Parody Song Title:

"We Will Shun You / We Are The Amish"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

Aahh -
Amish brother, now, you're a bad boy
Playin' radios, watchin' secret television
You play com-pu-ter games
You big disgrace
Shamin' your clan all over the place

So now -

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

Amish brother, you're in trouble
Drivin' in the street in a car not horse-and-buggy
Your car you like to race
You big disgrace
Drivin' your Saturn all over the place

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

Sing it !

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

Amish brother, you're too modern
Surfin' on the Web gonna make you want peace some day
You just don't know your place
(You) Big disgrace
Somebody better put you back into your place

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

Sing it !

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

Every Amish -

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

We will
We will
SHUN YOU

Amen!

**********************************

I pay my dues
Tithe after tithe

I travel highways
But cars I do not drive

And big red barns
I've raised a few

I'm a non-violent peace-loving farmer who wears a beard too

And we mean to milk cows and cows and cows and cows

We are the Amish, you see
And we don't use e-lec-tri-ci-ty
We are the Amish
We are the Amish
Don't like computers
'Cause we shun the modern high-tech world

I've milked every cow
Within every stall

Tourists bring money to purchase our crops and our handicrafts - I thank them all

When they ask for picture-poses
I will refuse

I consider it a challenge to live in this world exactly the way that I choose

And we mean to plow on and on and on and on

We are the Amish, you see
And we don't click mice or type on keys
We are the Amish
We are the Amish
Don't like computers
'Cause Old Order Amish shun the world

We are the Amish, you see
And we don't use e-lec-tri-ci-ty
We are the Amish
We are the Amish
Don't like computers
'Cause we shun the modern high-tech world

The best part about making fun of the Amish is..they'll never read this........http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/shaniatwain3.shtml

A really good job, Johnny. You getting second sight that you didn't see Arwen's vote? :D Btw, I voted.

Thanks, Billy and Adagio!

Okay...I tried AGAIN...and it doesn't change. I think it was Eye1's vote...because his comment wasn't there when I was voting, but after I'd voted, and before I'd commented, his comment was there... make sense?

I wish I could rate the two songs seperately. We are the amish deserves top marks, but I'd give We will Shun you a 4 on pacing...damn peer pressure. Well, g/j on both of them. And decent turnout too. I did a LotR version of this song not too long ago.
Johnny D - January 06, 2004 - Report this comment
Thank you, 2nz.

Hey people - please check out 2nz's parody of these two Queen tunes.....I voted 2nz a triple-5 for this one, and I was the first to post a comment on it as well - it's great:

I am not typing on this computer and I am not reading the parodies on this site. Someone wrote this for me. I don't even know about this. If I was to use a computer and if I was to cast a vote it would be one of higher stature.

Thank thee, Lancaster Brother.

This was brillant JD. I voted earlier and I think I read that procrastination parody too closely the other day. With commenting I just can't seem to get a round tuit. Nice work.

Jake A Ralphing (Luke Brattoni) - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Great idea using two songs in one, seems like Amishin Impossible. I must say that the first half had too much original content and not enough Johnny D humour. Churn that over.
Rick D - December 08, 2004 - Report this comment
I gave you fives becasue it's well done and a good idea......but it's similar to one Al Y. made famous. I try not to get near any thing he has done because he's the King, most of us here are fans, and comparisons arise. I do think if you were Amish the community would say, "That Brother John doth churn out both butter and jests"
Agrimorfee - December 09, 2004 - Report this comment
(ABC) Good stuff Maynard
Scathe - December 10, 2004 - Report this comment
(ABC-W) The OS has a nice beat. Using the Amish as a subject gives it a twisted feel.

(ABC W) Gosh, it seems something is Amish...er...I mean "amiss" here, it seems somehow I "shunned" this parody the first time around...ahh...I see now it came out when I did not have a PC at home and had just been laid off of my job the previous week...well, glad you entered in the "W" round since that enabled me to check it out...Wonderful concept here, using two songs by the same group in combination...5's...

Did you hear there's now a minor-league baseball team in Amish country? This isn't a joke, it's quite real. They're called the Lancaster Barnstormers. Get it? Barn-stormers? Well, they ain't doin' so hot. They're in last place in the South Division of the independent Atlantic League, which also features: From New Jersey, the Newark Bears (named for an old-time minor league baseball team), Somerset Patriots, Camden RiverSharks and Atlantic City Surf; from New York, the Long Island Ducks (named for an old-time minor league hockey team); from Connecticut, the Bridgeport Bluefish; and from New Hampshire, the Nashua Pride.
