The Lyrics

what can I say, the Mets are easy to make fun of now...
Art Howe:
Is this the real life, or is this fantasy
caught in a franchise, that wont see the World Series
Mike Piazza:
Open my thighs, now I'm out months: 9, Ill be
Al Leiter:
I'm just a poor boy, I pitch real good, you see
GM:
'cause them, players come, players go
some do good, and some do blow
random player on mets:
Anything the stats show,
they'll do bad once when they play with me
with me

Announcer:
Raul, just hit the ball
knocked it down, and then he fled,
tripped at first, he's out instead
Art Howe:
the right is wide open
'cause Mo has got another injury
Mikey, oh oh oh
Jeremy Burnitz:
didn't mean to hit a fly
Rookie player:
and if I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Ill be on, Ill be on
a team that just might matter

Tom Glavine:
too late, my time has come
I can't pitch one past this guy
and I was good at a time
GM:
traded everybody, and now we blow
Robin Ventura:
glad I left you all behind to join the blues
Art Howe:
Bobby, oh oh oh
wish you weren't fried
rookie player:
hey, I just realized that white thing is the ball

Mo Vaughn:
I feel a little like I'm nervous, cannot stand
headlines:
injury, injury, is it time to replace Mo?
rookie pitcher:
hit the ball like lightning, very very frightening me
Cliff Floyd:
cannot play-o, cannot play-o, cannot play-o, cannot play-o
GM:
need a new a-rookie-o
Tony Clark:
I was a tiger, and now I'm starting
GM:
he was a tiger, just how bad can he be?
Tony Clark:
I think our GM, he just don't know a thing

GM:
players come, players go
Art Howe:
Where'd Piazza go?
Mike Piazza:
I'm injured
Art Howe:
No! why must you heal so slow
other player:
we do blow
Mike Piazza:
I'm injured
Art Howe:
No! why must you heal so slow
other player:
we do blow
Mike Piazza:
I'm injured
Art Howe:
No! why must you heal so slow
other player:
we do blow
Art Howe:
No! why must you heal so slow
other player:
we do blow
Art Howe:
I know know know know know
Mets Owner:
miss Tom Seaver, miss Tom Seaver
miss Tom Seaver, where'd he go?
Al Leiter:
I wish this club would just trade me to anther team
'ther team, 'ther team, 'ther team

Art Howe:
so you think you can play bad and lose all the time
Mo still thinks he is injured, and cant even try
GM:
New rookies, got a lot more new rookies
Art Howe:
just let them fill, just let them fill the field there

GM:
this team doesn't matter
It's worse than Philly
this team doesn't matter
this team doesn't matter
I think

whole team, with managers, and owner:
Yes we know that we blow

In baseball, pacing slightly off results in home runs. Here, it results in a 4-5-5! So here's the happy recap: For people who like to laugh at the Mets, 4 runs, 5 hits, 5 notices of errors, the winning pitcher, Mike Florio, he's 15-9, the losing pitcher, take your pick from the Mets, credit a save to -- nobody yet, the attendance at Amiright Stadium 42, and the time of the parody, an unmanagable but thoroughly enjoyable six minutes and two seconds. (Wait, now I'm sounding like Yankee broadcaster Michael Kay.)
