The Lyrics

Our planet is still plagued by war, famine, pestilence and death in their modern reincarnations terrorism, celebrity role models, politicians and cubical work environments - and as if that wasn't enough we also have to suffer global warming, racism, diet advice and the evening news. Speaking of the latter it really irks me to see these daily clips with stupid idiots who think they can bring on democracy and freedom for Tibet by attacking and trying to shut down the only existing travelling symbol for worldwide planetary peace and cooperation there is - the olympic torch! Hallo morons - it's a candle, a piece of firewood, a bloody effing stick that's already on fire!

A YouTube version of the original song can currently be found here:

We don't need your demonstrations
We don't need your halt patrols
No road obstructions and no shouting
"China leave Tibet alone"
Pro-testers, why don't you go home
All in all it's just a burning stick that you stall
All in all it's just a stupid stick and a brawl

We all know the occupation
We all know the spin control
Hear Dalai Lama; "peace should be groomed"
Morons don't you throw no stones
Pro-testers, leave the stick alone
All in all it's not the burning stick that's your goal
And one day we might just thrust that stick up your hole

Edgy, and very well said..

Ditto AFW, though since "the flaming effing stick's" undoubtedly awash in Chinese paint, it's also a traveling emmisary for lead poisining!

I think your opening comment trumped your parody humor wise, but this was funny take on a current topic.

Too true... still, it's made for some fairly surreal news reports. Very well written, Peter.

Thanks everyone, I haven't had this many comments on the first day in a long time. As Red Ant so observantly noted the intro was essential, the parody was a bit short, more like a ditty, and felt like it fell a stones throw short of an edge before I added that, he-he.
