The Lyrics

It’s down at the end of everybody’s spine;
if it gets damaged, things won’t be spinally fine.
It’ll be a bummer; you’ll do much more than whine
if it is injured-equina time.
You’ll be bitchin’.

Equina, equina,
Latin for “horse,” equina.
What does a horse have to do with back pain now?
Why didn’t they use instead use “vitula,” cow?
Heigh-ho, Silver? No way!

The cauda equina is where those all of those end nerves splay.
It means “horse tail”; see one and you’ll understand
why that is what they call it…like the tail of a mount that hauls it
around the track, in front of the grandstand…
kinda stringy.

Equina, equina,
Screw vitula— equina!
If your foot starts to drop, go see a doc now,
’cause foot drop ain’t what you want to see, and how!
