THE MAGIC OF THE LIGHT

Twenty twenty not one to remember,
How we suffered right through to December.
Losing all our senses, bringing down defences...

Life so different right across the Nation,
With so many stuck in isolation.
No trips down to town where the shops were closing down
And restrictions were in place all day and night,
We wondered if we'd ever see the light.

There were fears that our world would never be the same,
That our lives would be different from before.
And we just couldn't take it anymore.
The future for us all was so unsure.

We were seeking some consideration,
But what happened, nothing but frustration.
Everyday the news had us shaking in our shoes
With the cases that they mentioned every night.
We wondered if we'd ever see the light.

Then at last came the breakthrough we'd be waiting for
With a vaccine approved throughout the land.
There is hope for the likes of you and me,
The future is how it ought to be.

Hallelujah things are looking brighter,
Mood is lifting, burden getting lighter.
Seems we're going to win, let the work and play begin
And from now the world is going to be alright.
At last we see the magic of the light.

Put aside the darkness of the night,
And we can see the magic of the light.
