Parody Song Title:

"Squid Fight At the Marquesas"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

Squid fight at the Marquesas
Bookie tuna gives odds
Loaches, mollies, and guppies
You'll see
Even tetras and cods

Heaven's holdin' a full-moon
High tide just for us
Let's get seats by the squid-pool
Eel school
Just slithered off o'their bus

Come on
Seaweed is our friend
He'll hide us from sharks
Come on
'Til the inkin' ends
'Til the inkin' ends

You don't have to swim here
Current flows our way
Just open up all your gills
Sit still
And you can breathe okay

(instrumental)

I know your Daddy's a marlin
A billfish known to all
With fifty eels to attend him
They all send him
Squirm at his beck and call

But you won't need no swordfish, honey
Join me at ringside
Let's watch these calamari
Parry
All their tentacles and fight

Come on
Catfish is our friend
He'll usher today
Come on
'Til the inkin' ends
'Til the inkin' ends

Squid fight at the Marquesas
Watch them suckers compete
Got plankton that we can snack on
Back on
Our coral ringside seats

Ohhhh, come on
Come on
(blub blub blub blub)
Ohhhh, come on
Come on
(blub blub blub blub)
Ohhhh, come on
Come on
(blub blub blub blub)

Somethin' fishy about this parody.

Thanks Rick - this parody's a sonar-reflection from "Floundershout", I guess...

Of all the ones I have seen, this might have been the funniest. I was almost crying. I just heard Midnight at the Oasis a few days ago for the first time in years. Priceless!

I am sick and tired of unending arguments about what to name my new band...today I threatened to name the band "SQUIDFIGHT!" No reason. It just sounded goofy. A Google search turns up "Squid Fight At The Oasis." I lost half a Diet Coke out my nose...thanks Johnny D. You owe me a new keyboard!

Thanks, marriottblacklab, and thanks, KC --- Googling can be hazardous to your Coke! ;-)

After two years, let me commend you for an excellent parody of Maria Muldaur's opus (plus a clever parody of Dean Martin's work in your comment).
